So to become a funeral director, embalmer, or work in the funeral industry, do you need to become a medical examiner, or forensic pathologist? Do you need to know all about the human body, so that you can embalm, and prepare the body for burial?

Check your state to see what the requirements are. More often than not, minimum is an associate's in Mortuary Science; some places require a Bachelor's. Plus a certain amount of time as an apprentice/intern (usually a year).

A medical examiner is a pathologist. A pathologist is someone who has attended medical school to earn an MD, and specializes in anatomic pathology.
