i love the nascar synchronised swimming idea it would literally never work. it is not hard at all for these guys to get riled up i remember watching a dude get out of his car and wrestle on the grass beside the track while other drivers slowed down to shout support for their prefered winner out the window. one of them would make a mistake in the synchronised formation and they would turn on him. they would attack him immediately. like sharks smelling blood in the water. this is good and funny and i would put my money behind it.
Wayne talking about scheduled transportation in online games takes me back to Final Fantasy XI. You could teleport around if you visited an area previously, but otherwise you had to take airships and boats that ran on a real time schedule to get between some regions. The boats had monsters that would spawn sometimes so you would either hide below deck, or fight and fish up on the top deck. It was fun riding the boat as a max level player to help protect the low level players on the boat. Good times.
