  • I forgot! We still have to bleed the new hydraulic throw out bearing! I could start the car in neutral, but would also like to test drive it too! "How to bleed your clutch or hydraulic throw out bearing," is a quick tutorial on how to bleed your clutch, which completes the classic musclecar hyrdraulic clutch play list. If I can do this at home, so can you! (This is also Part 11 of the Tremec Install Series)

    another awesome video and just a heads up minus the mess you made with the bleed screw you saved your self a bunch of time with bleeding by forgetting to tightening it lol. Works the same with brakes but what you did is what is called gravity bleeding, works very well when you replace brake lines. Put a catch can on so it won't make a mess on your floor pour the fluid and wait till it comes out the bleed screw that way when you start to bleed the system the only air your bleeding out is the air trapped in the component aka the calipers or slave cylinder or in your case the throw-out bearing. If the bleed screw was tight you prob would have had like 10 plus pedal pushes most likely more to bleed all the air out and that's just for the short run for the clutch hoses the brakes would be allot more. So what you thought was a blunder really saved your helper from allot of petal pumps lol but again awesome job man love you videos.

    I don't like that the bleeder is not higher than the slave cylinder (and it's pointed down) it seems there is potential to leave air in the line/slave with this setup.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought that at first too... it works fine. I suspect it's because the port is located high enough on the slave cylinder, where then air will find it's easiest way out of the system, under pressure. (when bleeding) Thanks for the comment!

    I like that you keep those little mistakes in like the open bleader cause that is real life!! New to the channel hope you have a video on hydro-boost master cylinder. I'm dealing with new vacuum boost system (4 wheel disk) on my 69 charger and it's giving me fits for obvious reasons low vacuum so looking at option #2 or 3 or 4 to improve my braking lol

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Paul... yeah, I like to keep mistakes in, because it's normal. That's how I learned, by making mistakes... :) As for hydro boost, I do not have a video on that... but, what I can tell you is, it's awesome. Make sure you have a big enough reservoir, with a filter screen so the power steering pump doesn't ingest the cavitation bubbles, making it impossible to bleed. Keep at it, and I'll see you soon!

    Hello, I have been watching your build and its been great! I was wondering about this bleeding process with a single line going into the hydraulic throw out bearing. Most have two lines coming out of the bearing a feed and and then a shorter line with a bleed cap just like a brake caliper. One would think air would get trapped either in the bearing or in the line feeding it. Obviously having a single feed line works! Over thinking it I guess.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Brother... yeah, I had a hard time with that concept too. But, the inlet/outlet on the slave cylinder is on the top, so air can get out. After that, it finds the area of least resistance to escape, which is the valve. Totally sounds crazy, but it works. I haven't had a problem since. Have fun!

    bench (gravity) bleed system before installing

      Definitely doesn't hurt to do that. Just not necessary with this system. Thanks for the comment!

    Ok, bleeding looks simple, but how does this setup get the air out of the cylinder and not just the line?? Also, do you think a remote bleed line would work with the right fitting?

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand how you feel... Because brake bleeding requires elevation of the fitting. But, this actually works fine the way it is. I suspect it has something to do with the location of the fitting on the cylinder, notice it's on the top, so air finds it's way there, then finds the path of least resistance, during bleeding. Not sure how you can make it better... the old saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, applies. :) Hope that helps.

    Thanks for the helpful video. I agree with Justin's comment above that the gravity bleeding you did initially, however unintentional, is actually the perfect way to start the bleeding process. I'll be doing this myself soon. How has the pedal feel been for you?
