Unboxing a vintage Marx Train set!

This box of Marx trains was given to me by a family member, these trains seemed to have been well looked after and taken care of. I do not own any other Marx trains so please help me out, and cut me some slack! If you know anything about this set please let me know in the comments!

I have several different MARX train sets from the early 1960s. They all were XMAS & birthday gifts from my grandmother. My mother didn't let me play with them at all except for one set and even that set is in like new condition all these years later. Its nice seeing someone else with a similiar MARX train sets. Take care of them and pass them down to your kiddies, including the orignal packing and box. Cheers.

That's a heck of a nice gift! I'm not into Marx myself but the condition of the train is exceptional AND with the original box and instructions it's something I wouldn't say no to at all!
It's a great one to have any way you look at it and a real keeper!

That flat bed with truck mounted a top is a rare bird. The collection is in very good condition, and I would say early 1950s.

Agree. From 1950's before these trains were made out of plastic. Notice the fixed couplings. Don't know if Marx had back then the butterfly automatic couplers. Was told that when new they worked but, without the detail of a much higher priced Lionel.
