  • I was running my new Trx4m Defender yesterday and got halfway through a battery pack when the stock plastic servo gears let go. I was able to run out to my local HobbyTown USA and get the truck back up and running quickly!

    The bearings help with the whine. There’s a bunch of binding in the bushings, you can watch it torque twist on flat ground. Looking good, brother!

      Yeah I noticed after installing the crawl transmission that the truck required a good amount of throttle to get the wheels turning! That's when I ordered the bearing kit. Thanks for hang out Josh!

      What bearings are you referring too?

      Traxxas has a bearing kit for the trx-4m.

    I upgraded the tires and they were a bit bigger and needed a spacer i believe. I think the rubbing destroyed the oem servo. Had it for about 4 weeks now.

      Yeah that could definitely do it. For me I got the truck on a bit of a bind, nothing crazy but it was enough to kill the stock plastic servo gears. No problems after installing the Ecopower! Thanks for hanging out mate much appreciated!

    Thanks for the recommendation! My 4 day old Traxxas Trx4m (Basically New) 's servo died too, and I was wondering if I should get Traxxas metal gear servo for 44$ or this one.

      No problem mate, I'm glad you found the video helpful! Thanks for watching.

      From my research this one is the best bang for your buck, I've seen people saying it's better than the metal gear Traxxas replacement. I would like to get one myself.

      I would highly recommend this servo, it's a great performer and it's available from hobbytown stores! Injora has a 7kg servo that is the same size as this one and looks like it could be another great option!

    After one day using my trx4m, the servo stopped turning the wheels and started slipping. I assume its the same issue. Need to take it apart to be sure.

      @havikhobbies  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the stock gears are plastic and seen to strip easily. Since replacing mine with 640t I haven't had another problem! Thanks for stopping by!

      @@havikhobbies It makes me wonder. Having servo issues after using for a single day sounds like something the manufacturer should be fixing. Though I do not want the same junk plastic gears. They offer a 2064R kit that has metal gears. So I think I will use that to service it.
      With any other product this would be unacceptable. Is this something we accept in the RC Hobby because we can repair these?

    • @havikhobbies
      @havikhobbies  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your absolutely right, Traxxas by all means should take care of the replacement. I didn't bother because they would just send out another crappy stock servos. You can get a better servo for less money and you won't have any issues after that.

    My son had his 4 days and same issue. I was surprised because he's just driving it around the house.
    I guess I'll have to upgrade it too.

      @havikhobbies  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I think it's pretty stingy of Traxxas to not include a metal gear servo, however their marketing strategy is very clear and they are happy to provide you with an upgrade servo at a cost! Thanks for watching!

      Yes! No issues with Ecopower 640t servo. I picked it up because my local HobbyTown keeps them on the shelf, however it appears to be a genuinely solid upgrade!
