  • When you visit a Theme park there are so many hidden secrets all around you. Especially at a park like Dollywood in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. This park has so much history and they really do such a wonderful job with keeping all these Easter eggs part of the theme and history of the park. After getting a list together I decided for this video I would focus on the Top 10 best secrets of Dollywood! Its easy to just run towards the Rmc Lightning Rod or Thunderhead and all the other rides but next time your at the park make sure to take a look around at all the wonderful theming!
Thanks so much for watching and I hope you will consider subscribing!

Dollywood season ticket holder here. I’m 40 and have been going to Dollywood since the early 90s. Now I take my two daughters often and it creates so much nostalgia. So grateful I live less than 2 hours away. Great video. You captured the Dollywood feels so well.

Dolly really does have mad respect for the 1st responders around the area. Years ago, my wife and I spent our honeymoon in Pigeon Forge. On the way home, we passed through Sevierville during their annual ‘boot drive’. Dolly herself was at the intersection we passed through. Huge thrill for us!

The end really got me. I have been thinking a lot about giving up higher paying jobs and going to work for a theme park. I think this kind of thing calls to a lot of us. Maybe someday I will do it and try to be a part of making good memories for families.

God for you. That stuff is directly from the soul! I believe that. It's why we sold everything to fulfill the dream of the coaster tour we're on right now. I hope the calling gets loud enough to where you simply have to answer! haha

For some it might drudgery but for others it's a calling. I've thought about it too. Nothing wrong with earning a living on the happy side of life, sharing in and helping to make the escape from our everyday existence become a lifetime of precious memories for untold numbers of your fellow man.

@@johnnyappleseed5029 if I didn’t have two kids I would have done this already. Not only would this job not pay super well but it would also keep me away from my family at key times. So while I spend most weekends with my family at a theme park, if I was to do this then I would instead be working on the weekends. Man this calls to me though. My hope is once they are adults I will shift to this!

I worked at cedar point for many years and while the hours are long, it’s one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. And that was when the pay was anywhere between $6.50 - $8.50 an hour. Now they pay $20 an hour and I’m really considering going back 🤣

I grew up at Dollywood, my mom has worked there since it was Silver Dollar City along with several of my aunts. The sign that reads Hale's Farm is for them.(mostly my mom since she's been there the longest. Also the one talking about berries is for my aunt cricket who opened and closed the once Ice cream parlor that sat beside the Mill in craftsman Valley. I myself worked there for 15years (since i was 16) i meet my husband there and i left once we had our child. I know lots of SECRETS if u want help on your next Dollywood trip just let me.

Coaster channels are everywhere, but it's rare to find one that incorporates great storytelling with a bit of emotional appeal beyond just seeking adrenaline. You're doing a great service by showing the real value of these parks, and you've elevated my expectations of what a good coaster channel looks and feels like. It's not just about credits and rankings and how much airtime a ride offers. Such things have their appeal only among a small set of parkgoers. You show us the universal appeal and value of a visit to these places.
It's great to see this convergence of love for parks, coasters, storytelling and videography. This is among my favorite YT channels ever, and I hope you'll stick around for a long time.

Ahh, this park has changed so much since I worked there in 1980 when it was still called Silver Dollar City. To be able to see some of the wood carvings and statues that were crafted by a dear friend and the train where we would re-create train robberies. Of course, can't forget the Smokehouse and Ice Cream Parlor, and Grist Mill. So many wonderful memories!

I’m not sure how I got recommended this video, but I’m grateful I did. New subscriber here. I’ve always respected Dolly for her down to earth view of family. She’s always seemed genuine, and lived by example. Most of us know her songwriting and singing talent, but forget how much she has invested back in the area she calls home. I’ve been interested in her theme park for many years, but until your video, I didn’t realize just how much she had developed around the whole area. I love the history she has preserved, and all of the personal touches are quite impressive. Kudos on a great video. I look forward to seeing more of them.

I first got hired as a carnival games attendant and then moved into the magic shop (as a professional magician, thats where I wanted to go first, but had to wait until I could get a contract to work there), selling and demonstrating magic tricks, as well as doing mini magic shows for groups. Something many people don't know, Dollywood used to be an amusement park named Silver Dollar City. One of the rides I clearly remember was the mine shaft boat; think of the It's A Small World ride, but this one was mine themed. The name of the mining company is Silver Dollar, a nod to what the park used to be named, and the ride is a bit of a nod to the mine shaft boat ride.

I've personally noticed a few things along the route of the Dollywood Express. Though recently removed, there was a moonshine still, but that's not the main thing I'm talking about. Next to the track outside of Wildwood Grove, there used to be an old stagecoach. That stagecoach was on the property as far back as the days of Rebel Railroad and Gold Rush Junction. When the park was Rebel Railroad, the stagecoach sat, tipped on its side where soldiers or bandits would hide and wait for the train to pass. Also, another secret of the train is the existence of two other engines. Everyone knows 192 and 70 have always been running those tracks, but few people have ever known of 71 and 72. Engine 71 arrived along with 70. It's tender was used as a spare when 70s was out of service. 71 ended up being used for parts and replacements, and never ran. 72 has a different story. 72 was mostly destroyed in a roundhouse fire in Skagway, Alaska. The engine was beyond repair, so a few of her remains were scattered along the route of the Dollywood Express as decorations.

Great video of a great theme park. You should come out to Branson MO to Silver Dollar City I would love to see a compare and contrast video since the two parks are primarily owned by the same company.

Ok man. I'm gonna say it knowing full well I might disagree with myself when the next in this series is uploaded. This is your best yet! By far imo!
I've now watched every one of your vids from way back in the beginning and your chops are so study. The shots, the angles and all that are killer, but it's your story telling. The blending of feelings associated with places such as Dollywood. This one transcends.
And.... you made me cry just a little bit at the end with those posters. I was sincerely touched. That Dolly. I love her so much and the stories of her giving heart have no end, but those posters. That's some covert love and respect right there.
You're the best out there dude. I mean that.

A bit of insight on Tennessee Tornado's mine theme... T.T sits on the site of the old 1980's-90's "Thunder Express" roller coaster. The ride was themed as an out of control mine train. The building/line que where you board Tennessee Tornado was repurposed rather than replaced. We live an hour or so from Dollywood and I can remember many of the old rides well. I remember going to Jukebox Junction on a church trip the week that it opened back in 1995, and still have the commemorative glass coke bottle Dollywood had made to celebrate J.J's grand opening.
