I thought I was the only who sees these standards - Why cant people be fans of music generally and stop putting themselves in situs they cant cav proper - Scoop and MsCosmo leaks Nasty's a$$ and its evident enough.
True hey. Because I also heard the album, there is a part were Cassper talks about Scoop and whatever, but it was most definitely a diss, but they never discussed that, why???????????? I mean the show is suppose to be 'objective', so why aren't they giving us the story on why Cassper is saying that about Scoop????? If you gonna give us a show, PLEASE don't choose your subject to suit you in studio or wherever you shooting
Funny how Scoop was asked on his thoughts on Nasty's album, instead of doing just that, he goes on and fight other people's opinion instead of telling us of his assessment of the project.
Yeah, it does feel like a copp out, sort of a way to avoid scrutiny of his own opinions..... Which is unfortunate. Because while we might agree with his or anyone elses opinion... it is YOUR opinion. Its a shame ngoba it illustrates the polarizing nature of Hip Hop discussions....
I think Scoop answered the question indirectly... How he feels about the album is not important, However, he spoke from a point of "new fans" or "young fans"... Saying that it doesn't matter how the O.Gs feel about it... as long as the kids fvcks widit
We all knew that Nasty sounds American and I don't have a problem with that. He can do whatever sound he wants; The only problem I have with ZMWSP is he didn't properly depict his Zulu heritage or what it feels like to be a ZuluMan; If he had named this album like Rockstar With Some Powers, I wouldn't have a problem with it because this album is about that rockstar lifestyle bcoz he flexes a lot and talks about love, hoes and US. But naming it ZuluMan is a huge L. And I didn't expect him to rap in Zulu, I just expected him to portray what his life is like as a Zulu Man in this world but all I got was I'm a talented rapper who yearns to be an American; And I'm saying all of this with love and respect because I am a huge Nasty C fan
I understand this sentiment, but I think it's shortsighted. What exactly does "properly depict his heritage" even mean, is there a standard way of doing this? If there were a standard way, it wouldn't be artistic which defeats Nasty's purpose as an artist. Him proclaiming to the rest of the world that he is Zulu is more than enough.
@@sbusisoskosana3276 Good point. There is no standard way of doing that. I have no problem in him expressing himself artistically the way he wants. Prior to the album release, I thought the album would be more about Nasty telling us about his upbringing in Durban and the culture he grew up in, and by culture I don't mean 'traditional culture' only. I was expecting him to release an album that people who grew up where he grew up could relate to him and strive to also be their own Zulu Man with Some Power. So my expectations were wrong, and you could argue that listeners should not expect artists to express themselves a certain way but those expectations wouldn't have been there if the title of the song wasn't Zulu Man.
@@sbusisoskosana3276 With the title he went with. He himself admitted that it was not necessarily his idea to name it that at first. But was "inspired by No I.D through conversations" they had. I dont think it's wrong to have expected him to speak more or even insert some more changes to his sound (more South African) in this album than what we got, just off expectations from the title. I stand with Nota's harsh criticism of the album tho, good album, but the whole thing screams was only titled so and is targeted mainly for a wide (wide age group, race, sex) international audience. To me it at this level of "artistry", production will be A1 (quality and sonically) what will matter is the "themes". And it sounds like a "regular" polished for mainstream major label debut.

I can feel his vibrations. I’d like to hear him giving more credit to artist who make local sound authentic South African to the world. Too much credit to the western sound. Vigi, this guy says less but more. I like how he criticizes music for what it is and that probably comes from his professional stand point. Keep up the good work PopCast team. I love the vision.

Lindo Illustrated who said he didn’t say that? Also there’s a difference between judging a song off one song vs making an example with one. For an album titled Zulu man with some power he could’ve and should’ve done so much more to represent DURBAN, SA and Africa or just not name the album ZMWSP and just make good music because he is talented enough to hold his own internationally without doing a half job in representing Africa.

Scooping bringing Elaine into this like she named her album Zulu Girl with some power. And then saying Cassper is referencing music like the Rick Ross sound but giving Zulu Man with some power( which sounds more American than AMN) a pass. What a joke. Go listen to Loco on AMN.
About Zulu girl 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The homies are back 💯💯💯
Scoop shouldn't assume that everyone wants to be signed to an American Label overseas... some people (like A-Reece) wanna stay independent, there's beauty in being a black boss and owning 100% of your work.
So Scoop found nothing wrong about Nasty C album, like nothing! Says a lot

Nota was right about Scoop 😂😂😂
