Arslan building a name for himself with multiple characters so namco will understand he is just a good player and that it's not about OP characters.
But his main isnt op 🤔. The best way to test yourself with a character or in general is to play mirror matches, it shows how well you play with a specific character and also shows how capable you are if your enemy is in the same exact position as you are. So in short, he used Leroy to flex not to join a hype train.
@@MrDarkknight914 yes, but I was getting at that namco use tournament result as a measuring point on which character to nerf. So if you are good and win your character gets nerfed has been the trend. Even kuma has faced this. So what Arslan is showing now is that it does not matter who they nerf, he is pure skills and will find a character to his liking and win

As a Kuma main this pleases me. As a fighting game fan in general, see a character being regarded as low tier defeat a top tier at this level of play is pretty awesome. Games get so bland when people just seek the meta characters

Eeh, bears aren't as good as Leroy, but they are definitely not D tier.
High damage block punishing (13f ws punisher anyone?), godlike whiff-punishing with df2,1, scary 50/50 in hunting stance, strong gimmicks, useful even at the top level of play (tmm commented on grounded 1+2 - one example of these). But very linear, and most of his pokes have shit range and frames - I think this is a good tradeoff, and a sign of a well-balanced character.

Bears are much better than people think, people don’t use them because they don’t like to play what are considered joke characters in a serious fighting game. There’s also a bit of stigma attached to playing bears, I personally get loads of hate mail about it on steam lol
The characters that I enjoy getting beat up are Akuma and Leroy.

It's easy to explain what happens with kuma at the wall. While we see the body of Kuma we totally forget that he has a lot of fur! So while we think we hit Kuma we actually only punch in his thick fur so he can take advantage of this and easily avoid attacks 🤓

@@zeonav5194 knee rarely ducks and punish because most of his opponemts in korea plays very safe like him, arslan and most pakistani plyers sometimes play too risky and arslan stands out because he has great defense. If atif butt plays more safe leroy without using highs, like you can do it with leroy very easily, he might have a chance on winning.
Yeah imo Knee still has the best fundamentals of all players. His punishment, movement, execution and ESPECIALLY knowledge have been the most consistent over the years. He has a very deep understanding of Tekken. Not saying others don't, but Knee is really special in that regard. He may not be a character specialist for the individual characters (except for Bryan maybe) but in terms of overall fundamentals, he's the best imo. JDCR and Arslan are close seconds right after Knee in terms of fundamentals I think. Heera Malik is probably up there as well. Dude is insane.

The fights go on for a while but DaddyKing made like a 10minute montage of Knee absolutely showing the most satisfying Kazuya gameplay w literally everything you could do w the character. Goes to show that playing well is what matters. Get your hit confirms, finish your combos, stop grabs, stop lows, cause whifs, duck and block the right moves etc. Usually the best players make very few mistakes, so a better character is often the edge they need to beat another player. But Tekken is close enough that the best character won't protect you from getting outplayed.

Actually he dropped those combos because of Kuma's weird hitboxes you cannot do combos to Kuma or Jack-7 like you can to other characters.

There's no other games that I can think of, besides maybe StarCraft, that requires you to have obnoxiously intense knowledge and mechanical skill to play at high levels.
Main man down foward 1,3 with kazuya has a secret mechanic where if the jab whifs the kick can pick them up and twirl mechanic with them

As a kuma player, Leroy has a harder time dealing with the bears' legs and hitbox in general. Back 1+2 and 2,1, 4 are both great Leroy killers. Also, Arslan went never d,b 1+2 on wall combos (bear specialty) and did a lot of easy combos. Both were pretty smart since you got great oki on the walls and the hardest hitting bear combos are just tough to pull of. But Arslan didn't really do much at the wall then and the rage drive combo at the end could have easily killed. Not saying Arslan Ash is bad with Kuma because he play wonderfully, just a bit too safe.
He's winning against probably the most aggressive players in the known Tekken world.

Arslan is on fire this year at Pakistan. He has won many Pakistani tournaments this year and kuma is part of his tournament success. He is also doing well at long sets.

To me, that Kuma/Panda nerf after Rangchu's TWT win was the ultimate representation of how the balancing team would be handling T7.
a few points, kumas b,f 2 looks homing right? its not i'm afraid, tracking is a big weakness for the bear, theres some obvious moves like this one that could get a buff to make him a bit better but no. at least kazuyas hellsweep tracks now.
its annoying when he gets wall combo and swaps sides. whats more annoying is the huge damage that he receives from someone with a bear specific combo. (saints recent \o/ video comes to mind) it would be nice if they just made his hitbox like jack or gigas, a bit more normal. but dont worry godfist is harder to whiff punish now!!
akuma vs bear: maybe its a good matchup, i would like to know what arslans answer is for an akuma with a lead who happily throws fireballs and waits for time up.
