Glad to see the video that is related to dairy industry in Taiwan in English. So I can share with my friends here in the US that our dairy industry is doing their best to reduce heat stress and maximum the cow comfort. Although there are more technologies in the US, but the environmental differences are the challenges. Hopefully the professors in Taiwan can continually utilize the knowledge to improve the dairy facilities, cow handling, animal welfare and more technology. Thank you for this video.
Wes, you should really consider sending this series for overseas television stations for board casting! You are really helping people to deep dive into the agriculture industry of Taiwan :) As a HongKonger living in Taiwan, the fact that Taiwan almost reach 100% self reliance on food production (except potatoes, wheat and beef) is one of the solid foundations that Taiwan can be independent from the hostile China. We HKers are often be threatened be China to cut off our food and water supply though we import more from overseas than China.
I like you had Professor Hsu explain the mechanism of lowering the impact of heat stress on cows before your visit to the dairy farm to see the milk production. Easy to understand. Awesome!
Very informative video. Good to know they treat the cows well. BTW, I noticed they have solar plant on the farm roof. That solar panels not only help reducing heat, but also gain additional income from Taipower. Appreciate your hard work.

Dairy industry is more suitable in country like Canada where you come from. Canada is cold and has lots of land. I think one of the reason Taiwan has the fresh milk industry is the demand of bubble milk tea and coffee shop. Do you find everything is cheaper in Taiwan than Canada except fresh milk?

台灣的牛很少 台灣的牛奶跟美國比真的好貴好貴 ！
但對比要進口安全成疑的中國鮮奶和更貴的歐美牛奶，台灣真的安全又便宜！我連奶酪乳酪都是在台灣住下來才放心買！台灣自行生產yogurt對飲奶必飛流直落三千尺的我真的是恩物。台灣人要惜福啊！
