Here's the next episode in my new food adventure series, where I explore Taiwan's incredibly unique and diverse food culture. This week we head up to Tainan City, a place known for its wide variety of delicious, inexpensive food and street food. We try the famous coffin bread, beef soup, dou hua, spicy ice cream, and of course my favorite eel noodles. Make sure you check these places out next time you're in Tainan!

Wes 已經完全是個懂吃的台灣人 。
這種拍片手法，哇很喜歡，介紹一個地方之前先在空中帶入到地上，讓人有從空降落的臨場感，把地方的道地飲食用英文介紹，可以增加外國游客到臺灣多瞭解，台灣不是只有鼎泰豐東西能吃，不是只有夜市能逛，其實台灣很多的在地小吃，都是經營超過60年的。
衛斯理形容食物都好到位，好自然👍🏽，是要嚐過多少才能到這個境界😃
感謝衛斯理再次拜訪我的家鄉，鱔魚意麵跟牛肉湯真的是除了台南以外在其他城市非常少見的美食，鱔魚意麵只分乾和羹兩種，如果單一份吃不癮也可以要求老闆幫你炒100或150元的，份量會比較足，店內如果有賣豬肝湯敢吃的話也可以嘗試看看，非常搭配的組合，牛肉湯在台南每一間賣牛肉湯的品質都很不錯，各間味道的差異性大概就差在湯底部分，跟鱔魚意麵一樣可以多嘗試幾間找出自己最喜歡的味道，期待您下次再訪台南拍的影片唷。
凌晨牛肉湯，早晨虱目魚，上午菜粽米糕碗粿浮水魚羹，中午蝦捲土魠魚擔仔麵冬瓜茶，下午棺材板各類小吃，晚上逛夜市，消夜生炒鱔魚鴨肉羹．
要是到早市場還有機會遇到豆菜麵等隱藏小吃．

我的台南美食精力湯“台南小芳鱔魚意麵”尤其是生炒鱔魚湯意麵。台南美食的特色不外乎～酸、甜、辣，而生炒鱔魚的軟中帶脆更是一絕！其中大量加入的洋蔥絲，簡直是生命中的泉源。只吃一碗、過了一夜，就像“大力水手普派”一樣，全血補滿復活、精神飽滿……🥰
全素口味水餃、全素湯包、全素小籠包、全素煎餃、全素水煎包、全素拌麵、全素武漢熱乾麵、全素炒飯炒麵,超級好吃。阿彌陀佛。無蛋飯丸全素超級好吃。餛飩麵全素超級太好吃了。馬玲署咖喱全素好吃到哭。全素紅豆餅、全素蘿蔔糕太好吃了口水一直流。阿彌陀佛。全素火鍋吃到飽,連吃三天真正好吃極了。全素不加蔥的餅超好吃。地瓜球、烤地瓜真實的好吃

故 意 不 蓋 便 宜 國 宅 賣 市 民... + 低 薪

還 有 故 意 搞 內 亂......預 測 約 2 年 之 後
多 數 人 又 窮 又 苦..、房 價 可 能 大 降 價
到 時 候 再 買 房 子......就 可 以 省 很 多 錢
專 業...每 到 台 南 必 吃 其 中 兩 樣，

棺材板的概念是用濃湯澆在烤脆的土司上，讓不同口感質地的結合碰撞，成為臺灣又一名吃。舊金山漁人碼頭也有一類似名吃，就是將有韌性略酸的大圓麪包開蓋，挖空當碗裝入濃湯，喝完湯還可以連碗吃下去，飽足又無需洗碗。

台南小吃 一天吃不完要吃好幾天 加油吧！
牛肉湯的概念跟越南火車頭河粉和雲南過橋米線很像，都是用滾熱的湯頭淋到生肉上，將碗中食材瞬間燙熟，以便呈現最為鮮嫩多汁的肉質以及醇厚的湯水。
已經懂得吃跟原生國家不同的食物
並且開始喜歡與享受他
代表已經融入這個社會了 ~~~

Wes幾乎要比我這台灣囡仔還要台灣通啦！
以前高鐵還沒建成時，南部幾乎沒有觀光客，那時的台南鱔魚麵幾乎都是來自善化的野生鱔魚，口感脆而且彈牙，骨頭勇健到可以搭配當歸、黃耆一起熬湯煮成養生湯品
後來觀光客一直湧入，台南縣房地產炒起來，野生鱔魚幾乎完全消失，現在吃到的鱔魚基本上是中國及越南進口的，滋味真的差很多，骨頭熬湯也沒效了
老師傅的手藝依然是國寶級的，超出來的鱔魚麵也很美味好吃，但在地老台南還是忍不住有些感嘆

不過鱔魚意麵 我推薦南區的 "眼鏡仔鱔魚意麵" 俗又大碗好吃

下次會去試試看，今天到阿江意麵用餐，明顯感受老闆旁邊的男工作人員態度真的很不親切，問兩句話就顯得很不耐煩，用餐最怕遇到這種態度的業者，食物再美味也沒心情享受了！
I am glad to see your street foods series gets on the road. Tainan is indeed the right place to start. A few suggestions: 1. Put prices of the dishes on a proper frame of the videos when editing. 2. Get a local cohost when you film in different cities . Someone like Catherine is wonderful. This way, you don’t have to eat all of the ordered dishes. And your wouldn’t have to work extra hard in the gym. 3. Have a Taiwanese friend do a bit research on the dishes introduced before hand. Like 鱔魚意麵. Actually, 意麵is very special and best 意麵is very local Tainan food which was originally brought in from 福建，China by the early day immigrants. The duck eggs was added when making the dough. Then lightly deep fried after noodles made into noodle shape. Quite a bit of work was put in to make it special.
Anyway, your advantage in street food is definitely your naturally articulated English. Keep up the good work.
My late mother was from Lin’s family in Tainan. I went to university there too. My father was originally from northern China, I don’t necessarily like the mostly, sweet tasting foods of Tainan but still, I love “度小月“ 的 擔仔米粉 when it was just a hole in the wall place in the 60’s. If I must retire back to Taiwan, I’d seriously consider to live in Tainan. Even though I grew up in Taipei, Tainan Is my favorite city of the entire island. Thanks for sharing this video. Well done.

台南當地的意麵，比較偏薄，帶點透光的感覺，但是感覺也不太會吸湯汁，所以那間鱔魚意麵用另外一種的意麵，而那種麵，比較多用在一般的「鍋燒意麵」！

OMG, you just helped me decide about my Taiwan Trip to be in December. Couldn't decide how to allocate how many weeks to spend in Taipei, Kaohsiung and Tainan. Now that I've seen your vlog Wes, I will allocate a longer stay in Tainan as I'm a foodie and what you ate, never seen those before in Taipei. Also a friend mentioned that the weather in Tainan and Kaohsiung is much better than Taipei in December. Thank you very much for sharing your video. Can't wait to taste those eel noodles. I also love eel but cooked that way, weren't there any bones?
