  • This week we're testing the incredibly beautiful Skoda Kodiaq 'Sportline'. It's suspiciously similar to the SEAT Tarraco and the VW Tiguan Allspace. In fact it's nearly identical in every single way. It has the exact same engine and drivetrain options, an extremely similar infotainment system and an almost inseparable interior layout with the 7 seats.
    Similarly to the Tarraco, prices start at around €34,000 and can equally add up to over €50k!
    The 'Sportline' title to it means it's the top of the line version which includes some larger 'Vegas' style alloys, sports seats with a mix between leather and alcantara along with a few other upgraded pieces of trip.
    We hope you enjoy the review, thank you for watching and subscribe.

    Proud owner of a fully loaded, magic black Kodiaq Sportline, hence the profile pic. Never ever going to let this one go, will be mine till the end. I’ve never enjoyed owning a car more. Owned many skodas, VWs, Mercs, bmws, Fords, Audi’s. And General Motors (Holden/Opel) and yet this is still by far the best

    Really enjoyed the Kodiaq specially this high spec one, it's such a beautiful car and I have to say I really like the Skoda lineup at the moment. They're doing a great job.

    That's the car park up near the Hell Fire Club. That car park used to be busy (during the eighties) in the weekend where couples used to test their car's suspensions. If you know what i mean. ; )

    That grey colour would be ‘camouflage’ in Cumbria where the sky is normally grey.

  • @tdikeith
    @tdikeith 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The grey really is a great colour on the skodas. The octavia and superbs have a similar if not identical grey and its a great colour when u see it. This kodiaq looks very nice even when u see them in traffic they have a nice presence about them. Base models look very different though, so the €34k base isnt a great brand ambassador for them. Good video. On to the next one

      I absolutely agree with you on all the above points Keith. In the Tarraco review we did i managed to park it next to an entry level (34k) Kodiaq and it really doesn't have half as much presence as the one in this video.
      Thanks for watching and for the feedback.

    What a brilliant review. And wow what a car. How tall are you? Thinking of getting one. I'm 6'2. Will I fit OK?

      Thank you very much Stephen. I'm 5ft10 however it's a big car with plenty of space so you shouldn't have any issues. One of my good friends has one and loves it, he's 6ft1. Happy shopping!

    The review sounds like the Kodiaq came after the Tarraco when in fact the opposite is the case by over a year.

    “4.8l/100km”...
    Your comp says 12l/100km in last 57 min. How did you manage to do this? 😁

    • @DoneDealMotor
      @DoneDealMotor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      hahah reviewing cars munches through fuel. It's all starting, stopping and manoeuvring so it tends to spike the fuel usage. On a normal long distance run you could expect around 5/l100km realistically.

    I would buy a Nissan X-Trail for that price. VW (Skoda whatever) has better infotainment though...

    • @DoneDealMotor
      @DoneDealMotor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it's another great option which looks great and is probably more value too. The only thing to be careful of is 'theoretically' it might not hold it's value quite as well as a german car brand in Ireland.

      Depends on how you see it, if you save for a few years or go for a renting with all included. All cars and I mean ALL cars have a running cost of arround 300eur a month, you just don't realise it. If you factor in all the taxes, tires, insurance, car depreciation, repairs and service, etc in 4 years and divide by 48 months you will hardly get ANY car below the 300eur mark and if you do, well, congratulations because you own a DACIA. 500eur for this car on a renting with no down-payment is a steal if you consider that a VW polo will cost you 300eur. In the case that you are a seco d hand market kind of guy, which if by all means fine, you get better deals per month but with higher intereses as all of them will be under a personal bank loan. Do your math, you're probably paying 500 eur a month and you haven't realised it yet.
