There's a whole lot more ghost stories about the White House than from the Bush twins. My favorites are the ones about Lincoln, of which there are many. Of those, my two favorites are Churchill's and Lyndon Johnson's encounters. Most of the rest involve people running away and screaming, but these two actually engaged the president. In Churchill's case (visiting America) after a nice bath while smoking a cigar, he stepped into his bedroom naked, only to see the ghost of Lincoln standing there. He calmly took the cigar out of his mouth and said, "Good evening Mr. President. You seem to have me at a disadvantage." At that the ghost laughed gently and faded away. Lyndon Johnson was up late worrying about how to deal with the Vietnam War, when he saw Abraham Lincoln enter the room. Too exhausted to be frightened, he asked the ghost, "How would you recommend that I deal with an unpopular war?" Lincoln smiled and said, "Don't go to the theater." And then vanished.
Queen Whilhemena (sp?) of the Netherlands also saw Lincoln’s ghost. She was staying at the White House and heard a knock on her bedroom door late at night. When she opened the door there stood Lincoln. She collapsed in a dead faint and was found in the open doorway still unconscious at daybreak.

For most president it's better than their own place
Trump : Where's my golden toilet
Very pretty building. I’ve been in it so many times since my dad worked there. I even tried to run off and play with the Bush twin girls when I was little. I also got stuck under a Xmas tree during the Xmas party when I was 2 🤦🏻♀️.
But I think my favorite memory was getting to pet and play with Clinton’s cat Sox. He was a very sweet and laid back cat.
True story....when I was in the 5th grade ( Im 33 now) we went to Washington DC and one of our visits was the White House and Bill Clinton was in office. While on the tour we did a walk thru outside and a brown dog kept barking at us kids and teachers but never came up to the gate.. I remember shouting "I wish that dog would shut up!" And that's when the tour guide announced it was the president's dog lol. I think his name was buddy- Im not sure! Looking back now he was a beautiful dog and that was one of my best school trips ever.
Love your videos 💕! You should do one on Weird Facts about Peter the Great ✨!
It's proably a lot better than it is to live at my house that's for sure 🕵🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤣
Am invisible man sleeping in your bed; who you gonna call? GHOSTBUSTERS!
Seems like the worst job ever to me. I desire a quiet peaceful life without confrontation. Everything politics is not.
That's how it be: the people best suited for the job don't want it.
It sounds like the president has to work many hours a week too. Meetings, events, going over laws and paperwork. It sounds grueling.
I can't agree more.
And even when you are not the president anymore you are still never going to have peace and quiet ever again.
@@jasonrandom372 Except if you’re Hayes
So why did Donald bother to go to Mar-A-Lago when he had a perfectly fine putting green next to the White House?
To put our taxpayer $$$ in his own pocket.
I mean, a putting green is significantly less than an entire course, so...
@@sandytaylor3404 so i guess Obama was doing the same then too since he golfed a lot yea?
@@ihhuwaa-8870 NO! Obama didn’t own the golf courses he went to and spend 50% of his time there overcharging the government for all the Agents and other staff and family and friends and oligarchs and dictators etc etc who could have made use of existing state facilities...
@@annwilliams6438 Obama is just as bad, if not worse due to his dishonesty and bombing of brown people. I’m sick of the Obama worshipping and gate keeping. Obama and trump both sucks. Dems are held to a higher standard but they just lie. And libs are okay with it. At least republicans will tell you no and dems are elusive and lying virtue signalers.
I’m a communist btw not a right winger. Obama voters are right wing neoconservatives and neoliberals aka fascists.
Thank you... Luv it... Full support 💪... YAY...
Obama: Turns up the thermostat.
Snowflakes: BUT, CLIMATE CHANGE!!!!
Real people trying to protect the planet are worried about far more important issues
Actually, it was fox news. So, yeah, snowflakes.
Great episode!!!!!!!
The cinema in there. That sounds dope.
A+ video!
LOVE IT! What a wild lifestyle it would be to live in the White House!
6:05 A tribute to what she did for him yet clearly shows a bunch of other persons doing it while she just stands there (but then gets all the credit afterward).
I remember reading there was a bowling alley there too? 🤔
Biggest perk of the White House for me: Having a gourmet chef on staff to cook or fix me my heart's desire for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Suggestion: What's it like living in the Vice President's residence? Does the V.P. have it as good as the POTUS?
The White House chef is a huge bodybuilder. There's a video about him.
Except that you’ll have to pay for all the food still! Michelle Obama talked about that in her book. She was quite surprised by the costs of living in the White House
You want it you pay for it. Not on our taxpayer dollars. They have to foot the bill for all those fancy dinners. A big state dinner with a foreign leader im not sure about that part
@@justina249 they only pay for their private meals. Everything official is paid for by the tax payer, like office or kitchen staff and fancy state dinners. They also have to pay for private birthday parties including serving staff and food.
What’s that song playing in the background in the beginning of the video??
Can you do “What did people used to do when they were bored back then (maybe sometime in the 1800s)”
Thank God for Dolley Madison. Somebody needs to give her a medal of honor for real.
5:43 This story is a common myth. She simply didn’t have the time, since the portrait required a ladder to be taken down. The real people to thank were Jean Pierre Sioussant, the French Door keeper(yes, that was a real position) and McGraw, The Presidents gardener. The were the ones who cut the portrait out of the frame and loaded it into the wagon along with other valuables.
I was in a group home where you couldn’t open a window and when I mov3d into my foster home, I kid you not I was happiest about finally having windows that open
The intro was a missed opportunity to feature Cory in the House.😐
Who carea about that old shit
Thank you for playing Holst’s Jupiter as background music 🥺❤️
There's going to be massive orange stains all over the carpet in 2021 that'll need removed.
Any update on the next TimeLine videos? Really liked the longer videos
I love that Obama is talked about more than trump in this video 😂
That's because Obama was respected than Trump even if you didn't agree with his policies at least he was decent and mature unlike Trump always tweeting comments.
@@Thespeedrap he is still respected and I miss him so much
@@Shusha0029 I do too but since we got Biden elected at least we don't have to worry no more.
The bush sisters musta been doing some good acid to an orchestra coming from the fireplace 😂
When asked about living in the WH President Kennedy responded. " I can walk to work and the pays good"
Except the pay is hardly commensurate with the stress and responsibility
Nice video. Toured some of the rooms once, years ago.
I think you've done sumthin like this b4 but this is more updated lol
Love the videos! Can you make one about valley forge?
