Yeah it got the green light a couple years back, think they’ve been hammering away at it little by little. Hopefully some concrete updates in 2025 on it.
calling it underappreciated isnt really true, the cult following of this film will defend this film to the extreme and it isnt to be taken lightly. Speaks a lot how it was crafted with care that even until now people are divided for a second film, hoping it would surpass the first but also afraid it might not be on par and just diminish the goodness of the first one.

This is one of the most underrated movies ever made and I love every minute of it, specially the cinematography and composition of it. All that symmetry that eventually leads to a light vs dark paranormal theme is just phenomenal. If I was a director and never made another movie ever… I wish I made a movie just like this. I remember walking to the theater from my house in the rain that afternoon to see it opening day. It was such a vibe when I came home. All I wanted to do is go back into the rain, walk back to the theater and watch it again.

Me too, CGI didn't age well though but it usually doesn't.
It's such a beautiful thing 4 decades in seeing Keanu get his flowers and having such a hot streak of success
