Anyone who's been watching your channel for a while shouldn't be surprised. I used to own an FC Turbo-2 like 20 years ago so I'm super excited to see that content.
Got my 04 Sti in 2009 at 16 years old...31 now and the car still makes me feel as good as it did 15 years ago. Could never get rid of it and will never get rid of it, but I understand needing money for life things. Brother sold his evo 8 to help him get a house...I miss that evo though.
That’s our plan for this year. With how much we spend renting the shop and our current place we are just burning money. Hoping we can snag something this year. As much as I absolutely love everything we build there is always more to life than just the cars 💪
I'm not throwing any shade at you, but that comment brought back some choice memories. Back in 2004 I was 18 and a fresh high school graduate, I don't think I got my first job until 2005 so needless to say I didn't really have a lot of money. At that time, a lot of teenagers were getting these brand new STIs & Evos because Mommy & Daddy bought them for their kids. My neck of the woods was a rather affluent area, my family was well off too but my Dad wasn't that generous... I got my mom's 94 Accord for my first car. If I wanted something else I had to do that myself. I absolutely hated that shit, it hit different than the kids that had new BMWs or Audis or whatever. And sadly, a bunch of them were doing reckless shit and either killing themselves or others in horrific accidents driving those STIs well beyond their skill levels. That trend went on for several years until I either stopped paying attention or it stopped happening as frequently. In any event, I'm glad you didn't become a statistic like they did.
FC's are very nice looking cars. The car washer at my work has a 20B FC RX-7 that was making under 700hp, he did roll racing against his brother's Huracan at Eastern Creek raceway and beat the Huracan on blown apex seals. Motor has been rebuilt with a bigger turbo and makes close to 800hp now
Omg the pain. 😑 But I do understand where you're coming from. Hopefully the FC is going to be a beast like this FD. Also, hope you get a substantial return for this beauty to pay off whatever financial hurdle you have mate. Always a fan 🤙
With us trying to snag a house this year it wasn’t planned to sell it. Mel tried to talk me into keeping it. But I’d rather us get into our own place again 😩

I think that would be a good middle ground vs stripping it down to a frame again. It’s really fun to redo them completely but there is a hesitation to actually want to abuse them. FCs are wayyyyy more affordable too
Totally get it man, it sucks but I imagine these builds are not cheap. Gotta cash in on the investment when the value is at its highest. Really looking forward to the return of Blu and the completion of the 22b. If you can own those two cars and a house, you’ve made it man :) cheers!

8:40 that is the 'low fuel level' warning light, I hope you didn't cut it. The fuel temperature sensor is a 2-wire sensor like a coolant sensor, threaded into the secondary fuel rail.
It’s definitely not wired up or being used 😅 I guess you technically could wire it to the haltech to make it read. But seems a little silly to have a low fuel level when you can just program it into the dash now 😅
Man that's how it goes. Get em built, enjoy em some, auction off hoping to recoup/profit, then on to the next one! Now that 25b.......fan giveaway?!?!😊
You're a big boy and you know what's best for you, but my opinion is you're making a mistake. You are a man, with talent and tools. You can ALWAYS make more money doing what you need to do. You can always try to buy cars like this again, but there's no guarantee that you will. It will take only 2 days after you sell it before you miss it, want it back and won't be able to find it to buy it back, so just be sure this is what you want to do. I've seen it happen many times with friends. I have a 97 Dodge neon 2.4 turbo coupe that i built before the SRT4 was ever thought about. I haven't driven that car in at least 12 years. Hey bro I’m in the same spot with my GTR.. it’s my everything and my trophy car but truly selling it will help me get to the next level in life. So I get the feeling, we’re all in different financial positions but I truly think letting it go to progress in other builds or aspects of life is the right move. You’ve got a gift for building sick cars and can always build another. Much love 🙏
100% I wish everyone understood this but glad I’m not alone. As much as we’d love to keep em, there are still more important things in life than just keeping every car. 🙏
Will def miss this thing but makes the most sense. With how much we spend on renting our current place and shop, it makes way more sense for us to just buy another house. The FD will be missed but we can always build another
100% 💪 goal for 2025 for us is to move into our own place. With how much we spend renting the shop and our current place we’re just burning money at this point. Will definitely miss the FD but at the end of the day, they’re just cars
Getting ready for the spokane transition huh ;) what would be cool for a future project is if you got back into the GR86 since when you had it there was no way of tuning them yet and it was very limited what you could do at the time but now they're a lot lower in price now and easier to find. Would like to see you test out the FA24D motor with a turbo build and see the limits since theres no real development when it comes to like built engine for those so far besides bunch of turbo kits out for them now.
The only thing I think the next owner could upgrade is putting real gauges and hiding the Haltech interface. Other than that I'd call it a perfect spring/summer/fall daily or weekend ride. It does require a bit more upkeep, but it's also part of the experience.
Good decision in my mind. It's a beautiful car. But in my opinion this is what most guys should do. Build a great car and flip it. And on to the next project and and keep flipping cars to fund more sick projects
It’s not a terrible way to make money, it saves a car and someone ends up with a great car. I will absolutely miss this thing. But we are trying to get another house this year. With how much we spend on renting the shop and our current place, we are just burning money
@@Smeediathanks for sharing men. Understand. And about the FD, I think base on the condition of the care, you do the right things. The value of those are so high so you will be able to cash and continu with other project. Keep pushing men!
100% you will regret it unfortunately, but at the same time I feel you on feeling bad beating on the FD. I beat the shit out of my FC when it was still running, but taking out my FD is nerve wrecking because Im always afraid of breaking it or someone hitting me. Just be aware that finding aftermarket parts for an FC are going to be a SIGNIFICANT PITA compared to the FD. There is almost no aftermarket support left for FCs.
Will def keep that in mind, I remember seeing SO Many FC parts when trying to find FD parts. Dude FD parts alone are such a PIA to source for any LHD models now 😩
@@Smeedia You still have a few people in the game making LHD FD parts, but almost all of the FC stuff is basically discontinued. If you look at the lists on most manufacturers and compare FC vs FD, the FC section is really small. There are a TON of used parts out there though, so getting used OEM stuff is significantly easier and cheaper in comparison to an FD. Also, there is more S5 stuff than S4 stuff as well, so get an 89-91 if you can.
I've loved your videos for a long time, but it feels like the cars have about the same estimated life expectancy of a GoT character; maby even worse lol
I haven’t seen GoT 😢 tbh there’s too many right now. I don’t get the time to actually spend with the cars so I never really develop any type of connection with them because I’m jumping around so much. The only reason the FD is going out is because we need some funds to pay off debt and put money aside so we can hopefully snag a house this year. With how much we pay for rent between the shop and our current place it’s killing us throwing away so much money every month
I'm just some guy, but I think you went overboard with this build. An RX7 with a mostly stock body, 250-300 whp, and a cat converter and quiet muffler is still a really fun car and still gets silly amounts of attention if you're into that. I can't imagine buying all those racecar parts and never taking the car to a racetrack. In terms of what do get next, an RX8 is probably a better daily driver than an FC. The modern suspension rides better, the suicide doors are nice if you need to put people or things in the back seat, and should be easier to find good cars and good parts since they are so much newer.
My Tacoma is the dedicated daily 😅 but I 100% agree with you. I do think I took it a little farther than the car really needed to go. I think if I had bought one that was not a shell it would have been more along the lines of what you described.
@@Smeedia The FC RX7s are better looking than most RX8s, that's hard to argue with. And much more interior space than the FD, but still handle similarly well. Stock for stock, the car with the stickier tires will probably be quicker at an autocross track.
If you keep making Mazda content, I will keep watching. For more odd cars, track down a Mazdaspeed 6 to compare to your Subarus. It is AWD, turbo, with a somewhat fragile drivetrain. Basically a Subaru ;)
I haven't started the video and am already saddened :(((( loved this build so much but it was bound to eventually be flipped, should get good profits beauty of a build
@Smeedia fingers crossed it goes well, I think you’ll easily profit nicely over what you put in it. I just wish you had more time to track it and beat it up a bit in some vids hahaha
Ima miss the FD, but with the sale it should help us get a house much easier. And I’m already on the Hunt for a Turbo II, I’m still hooked on this rotary thing now 😂
No one and I mean no body would pay my asking price on the RS 😂 that’s a 300K mile sideswiped swap. Thing would not sell for what I even have close into it lol
The title of the video hurts but imma watch it anyways
This one stings, but we want to buy a house soon so that means wiping out any and all debt 😩
@ And i respect your decision brother 💯

Getting ready for the spokane transition huh ;) what would be cool for a future project is if you got back into the GR86 since when you had it there was no way of tuning them yet and it was very limited what you could do at the time but now they're a lot lower in price now and easier to find. Would like to see you test out the FA24D motor with a turbo build and see the limits since theres no real development when it comes to like built engine for those so far besides bunch of turbo kits out for them now.
Just keep building!!
Always 🫡
My butt hurts over the video title. But then again an fc we can beat on it. I like
A little turbo II with just some bolt ons would be 🔥
Those windshield wipers need to clock out more.
I’ve tried 😂
The only thing I think the next owner could upgrade is putting real gauges and hiding the Haltech interface. Other than that I'd call it a perfect spring/summer/fall daily or weekend ride. It does require a bit more upkeep, but it's also part of the experience.
Car comes with the stock cluster so they definitely have that option. I live the haltech interface. Keeps everything in one spot
Your "love'em and leave'em" grindset is gut wrenching....
Karma "GD" hurt to watch go, but I understand.
It’s time we prep to buy a house again, the FD should help put a nest egg to help get everything sorted.
@Smeedia props dude, way to make it happen Captain!!!
There ain't no stopping you Tanner!
Never ever get rid of the 22B clone! 🙏🤬
Even if I listed it no one would pay my asking price for a 300K mile 2.5rs 😂
@@Smeedia ❤️
I'll buy it when you put it up for sale. Hopium
oh noooo! I thought this was your perma car?
what do you think your cost to build is $$?
Including the shell I think I was around 80 into it. I do not expect to make that back 😅
Have you looked for another recently ?
Sad to see it go, really hope you get top dollar for it!
Very curious to see what it will see for 👀 I will miss that thing a ton but right now it’s for the better
@@Smeedia whats your reserve on it?
Hey just curious do the windshield wipers only go half way from factory?
No, I had to adjust them again 😅
Why you have this attachement for your 2017 STI?
On my side, I got a 2015 and a 2007 and I prefer my 2007 but this is my personal opinion 😊
My STI was the last car I bought before my mom died so I have an emotional attachment to that one 🙏
@@surrrithuxI’ll keep an eye out, I’ve always loved the FCs and for the car itself they’re sooooo much more affordable
@@Smeedia It makes sense for sure, especially when you've gotta make smart financial decisions for long term goals. But you've never seem GoT? 🥺
Now you'll have time to post what you're doing to the transmission to allow you to mid-mount the EG33 and maintain AWD!! 😁😉😎
If you keep making Mazda content, I will keep watching.
For more odd cars, track down a Mazdaspeed 6 to compare to your Subarus. It is AWD, turbo, with a somewhat fragile drivetrain. Basically a Subaru ;)
I haven’t seen a speed 6 is a hot while 😅 right now the plan is to snag a Turbo II 💪
Will there be a loss dollar wise on the sale ?? You can't put a price on the thrill of the build 👍🏻
There might be, it’s up to the market to decide what it sells for 😅
Would you consider doing a ej257 and ej207 comparison video sometime?..
We have people stop on exit rumps when theirs no stop signs so be lucky
Whyyyyy stop on the ramp?! 😩
@@Smeedia I yell all the time
oh man this just means I have to start saving up to bid on the 22b replica when it goes for auction 😂
Apologies if you've already mentioned this but what was your transmission plan to hold the power long term?
I believe my brother and I have an FC. I could see if he’d agree to let it go
It was our dads but we just don’t use it
Def lemme know! Looking for a Turbo II but not crazy picky
You should do a video on the tools you have around the shop.
Tons of random stuff in here 😅
Get some bank! They’re just metal. Do what you do man
🙏🙏🙏
I haven't started the video and am already saddened :(((( loved this build so much but it was bound to eventually be flipped, should get good profits beauty of a build
Very curious to see what it goes for, would love to hold onto this car. But with us trying to get into our own house again, it’s gotta go
@Smeedia fingers crossed it goes well, I think you’ll easily profit nicely over what you put in it. I just wish you had more time to track it and beat it up a bit in some vids hahaha
9:45 lol mine goes, “weeeeeeeeee”
😂😂😂
Bought my FD back in January 2003. I will NEVER sell my baby.
Ima miss the FD, but with the sale it should help us get a house much easier. And I’m already on the Hunt for a Turbo II, I’m still hooked on this rotary thing now 😂
@Smeedia My future project is an NA Renesis ND Miata. I promise, my version wont be slow. 😉
Sell it while market is high, re coup the cash, and finish the others projects. Did you sold the Porsche?
Unfortunately not yet, it’s still for sale. The prior buyer couldn’t get financing after putting a deposit down
Have u bumped your head, what are u thinking having a 1 of 1. I don't understand.
Where can I bid, Tanner? Edit: Shoot me a link when it's up on C&B.
I’ll post it back on this video and share it on IG 🫡
If i had a dollar for every time a TH-camr said this is a forever car and then sold it, id have the money to finish my car 😂
I will donate to the cause 😅
@ 😂
So how long with the 22b last when its done then?
No one and I mean no body would pay my asking price on the RS 😂 that’s a 300K mile sideswiped swap. Thing would not sell for what I even have close into it lol
I’m waiting for you to sell the gc when it’s done so I can buy it😂
Ain’t no one going to buy that thing 😂 a 300K miles 2.5rs that thing wouldn’t sell for poop lol
Fc is going to be more fun just wait and thanks for watching bro
I love a good Turbo II
there so many out here but out of my price range there all right hand and ship over damn near new
