I agree, but I don't think it's about recording criminals. It's about instigating them to assault the employees so the store can force the state to charge them with robbery since they won't charge people with shoplifting.
It's so disgusting. I can't imagine working at one of these stores where my boss hopes I get assaulted if someone steals(which is going to happen). All so they can do what cops do everywhere else without innocent people having to get injured first. Insane.

"High wage" earners pay over 45% of income taxes in the country. These are the same numbers that would boil down into States and cities. The politicians do not care about low income or even middle-income families, their agenda is to attract high wage people and keep them there. This reminds me of a store owner who jacked up all the prices in his shop, then gave out massive discounts at the register. This way, customers bought the products for a normal value; but without the coupons, just one stolen item is enough to get a thief into jail. I imagine that something like that could work here, if the District Attorney follows their own “rules”. Like if you want to buy a big shampoo bottle for $30, the price on the shelf would be $1030, and then you’d get a $1000 discount at the register. This way, anyone who steals it would be over the $1000 limit. It might be confusing for customers at first, but I think it could work.
