Everyone needs to drop the Christianity stuff and see the real reason. He can’t do this anymore. Same with the conjuring, that’s always been the reason. His voice is so fucked that even in D standard I doubt he’ll ever be able to hit close to these notes again. Also, his guitar playing isn’t up to scratch for this either.
"Most difficult song to play" as said by Dave himself. The time signatures, the riffs and the speed are from another dimension....I love playing this but I still fuck it up every now and then if I don't pay attention...
@@ater508 Correct! But the Jazz drumming starting on 2 and the crazy boogie riffing baffles many :) Also, not anyone has a rails neck pickup to do those "above the pickup" bends during the solo :)
@@coolcool8651 Yes, in an interview maybe a few years back, Dave was asked which is the hardest one to play, and he said "loved to death, because its very fast, has very difficult chords structures and rhythm parts and I have to sing on top..."
First two Megadeth albums and Rust In Peace untouchable IMO. I've NEVER heard another band come close to this sound. Don't get me wrong, I love Metallica and Iron Maiden, but Megadeth's sound was like totally unique! Jazz, thrash, heavy, groove, punk metal! Untouchable in their prime!
@@jetpackjbd Its my favorite too man. But I don't get, what's not too like. Sure, Mary Jane and Liar as well as the sex psitol cover aren't exactly the strongest songs. But Set The world A fire and Hook in mouth are just incredible
Mary Jane and liar are fucking solid what are you taking about, liars got that sick riff for the chorus and Mary Jane is a trip and gots the best riff out of the whole album
How this man can play something like this and sing at the same time is beyond comprehension. I can only guess loads of coke can give you this ability lol
I like how Dave Mustaine's twin is in the crowd looking at Dave in awe. Its also cool seeing Chris use Dave's Rich Bich in this video, hardly ever see that.
It looks like Chris Poland is playing Dave's B.C. Rich Rich Bitch ! This is definitely around the Peace Sells time with Dave playing his 1st Jackson King V !
Chris Poland also had his own bc rich he used to work at the bc rich factory but yeah this is when Dave transitioned from bc rich to Jackson I kinda wish he stayed with bc rich Jackson is still cool tho
Heck, I can't count how many comment I've gotten on this video that is pure preference. I wish people would learn the difference between favorite and best. Dave isn't really a wonder of a guitar player skillwise. He is my favorite riff and song writer, but he is surpassed by many other metal guitarists skillwise. Dave is unique though, which is what people love about his guitar playing, it's probably the most aggressive guitar playing in metal, which is why it's a joy to listen to him play.
@DARRINCONNOR1 You bring up a good point, I had never put much thought into Chris and Gar pawning their gear, only the rest of the bands gear. It seems logical that he would need to use daves guitar after pawning his own especially at the time of this concert seeing as he left the band just two months after this show (Ive heard different stories that he got kicked out and others that he left) but one thing i did think of was maybe Chris wanted to use Daves Bich after he got hooked on King V's ?
I was there when he said there isn't a big four because there was really 5, because exodus was always there, and I remember my friends. Dave said that at a live show. So actually Dave did say that. Probably because they opened and killed.
Damn, it is like I thought. Dave plays that impossibly high note by fretting the string off the pole of the pickup. I figured there was no other way he could get it that high
@MasterofKnees being a good guitarist is't just playing fast, it's also creativity, songwriting etc. Dave wrote amazing songs, really difficults, and he can even sing on them (for example, try to sing on Take No Prisoners while playing guitar, it's fucking hard, almost impossible, but Dave does it). I agree that Broderick is technically amazing, but so far I can't see in him any great ability but playing fast.
@sciacallo010 Also, to make it clear, Take no Prisoners is easy to sing and play guitar at the same time, it's just about being able to seperate the two so you can focus on both things at the same time. Not that I sing good at all though.
can you play and sing it how they did it live? x2 or X4 i should say cause the love version is the fastest anyone has played in metal ever throughout the whole song
@sciacallo010 That's a big fat lie, Dave have said himself that Broderick is miles ahead of him in guitar playing in every aspect. You may like Dave's style better, I do too, but Broderick is undeniably the best guitarist Megadeth has had, as Dave himself also have said.
Well, Gary sure is the best guitarist Slayer has had, even though he is a stand in, but I still haven't seen him do the stuff Broderick can. Broderick doesn't only specialize in metal, he specializes in pretty much everything you can think of, and he does everything with pretty much perfection. Gary is a killer guitarist though.
@sciacallo010 Just to make it simple for you, just search his name, find the ones where he does Slap Jazz, 8 finger tapping, plays classical pieces on an acoustic guitar. You haven't even researched. Also, technically Broderick is also a better singer than Mustaine. Mustaine's range is VERY VERY limited, especially today, Broderick's backing vocals in Sleepwalker, Sweating Bullets are wonderful, maybe not for metal so much, but he has a bigger range on vocals than Dave.
@562aleks Yeah it is very cool.Just got done reading Daves book "Mustaine" very good read.I'm wondering if the reason Chris is using the "Rich Bich" is because Chris and Gar had a huge problem with pawning there gear, and he was without his B.C. Rich?? I always heard that Chris was a total smartass and could be a pain in tha ass,but he always seemed so quiet to me.Seems to me Daves starting to lose his voice in this part ov his career.K.I.M.B top 5 best metal albums ov all time.
Thanks for this upload and no offence meant to the OP, but there's a soundboard recording of this song live in Cleveland, apparently the same year during the same tour. The recording is a rip from the Peace Sells 25th Anniversary set: th-cam.com/video/hZ6WUwN0RqE/w-d-xo.html There are other rare live cuts linked in the description of the same video.
yeah i know chris is still technically better than gary as far as how much different stuff he can probably play, but as far as the founding guitarists of the old thrash bands go i think gary is unrivaled as a lead player
I can understand that you might personally prefer those four, but fact is that he is technically a lot better than any of the other Big 4 guitarists. Even then I find it kind of disgraceful that you mention Kerry alongside those legendary guitarists.
@sciacallo010 I do agree that Mustaine ofcourse is the mastermind behind all the riffs, and that's part of being a good guitarist, but do not forget that Broderick has written his own solos on Endgame and 13. To say that Dave is better than Chris is just nonsense, especially when he have said himself that he is miles in front of himself, Dave would NEVER pick a lead guitarist worse than himself. You need to do your research before bitching about it.
vinnie dolly idk why but Megadeth seems to be the only band out of the big 4 that does not have any good quality live footage of the early shows. Not till rust in peace lol There are some good audio only if last rites like Tokyo 87, Houston 86, and denver86 but I really really wish they had footage recordings ... slayer and Metallica have ton of good early footage dating back to 83’ ... I don’t fing understand why Megadeth doesn’t lol
Keep in mind this was before they made it big. Its highly unlikely you'll find any professional recordings of it. Same goes with pre-justice era metallica.
