Unable to control the gangs and homeless people in the City of San Bernardino has made it tough on everyone. I work a block away from the mall . I have been in a violent armed robbery and hsd my car broken into 5 times ! Eveytime you go to get gas or fast food some "sketchy" Psychotic homeless person approaches you asking for money ! Where I work, the homeless folk climb on to the roof to sleep at night ! Welcome to Zombie City ! Do you really want to go shopping at a nice mall full of "Gangstas" and homeless folk ? Want to "Duke it out" in the parking lot ? Wow ! Fux the potholes in the streets. Police the gangs and homeless folk and San Bernardino will make a come back ! It us a nice town it's time to take to take it back ! Psychotic homeless folk belong at Patton State Hospital where they can get help and not on the streets ! 😑

I remember reading an article that about 1 out of 4 malls nationwide will be demolished with-in 5 years?!
25% is mind boggling... all that material going to recycling plants and landfills! 🤤
I miss the 70's and 80's when going to the MALL was a normal activity. Going online to Amazon is f*****g boring!
You don't get the same feel...
No music, no foodcourt, no organ stores, no hanging out by a fountain, no kids rides, etc.
I want to time travel back for a weekend- have a Slurpee, check out the latest albums at Wherehouse records, buy a poster, may be see a matinee movie when popcorn had REAL butter! 😋🤗

Example problem within sectors, 5-years/calendars consecutive, prolongibg agony, also magnet for problems mentioned. Seen other sectors decisively complete commercial shopping centers within 2/3 time duration. 5-consecutive calendars placing this as secondary priority. 60+ months looking like a gene autry waste land, when within 2.5-calendars a city tax revenue new place, with local residents shopping, eating. Really gratifying progress

Carousel mall was already going down hill in the late 80’s.
The final nail on the coffin. Was the shutting down of Norton Air Force Base across the street in 1994.
Then the city of San Bernardino became a hell hole.
And it’ll become a bigger he’ll hole when the city brings in affordable housing, section 8 housing.
What a joke! San Bernardino city council and the mayor couldn’t even control a mall.

It should've closed a lot sooner than it did but the time it stood closed and nothing done definitely was to long. This demo and redevelopment is long overdue. I still live here and many family. We all own homes here. We are invested. So renovation brings a revitalization to our community. More tax dollars and more cops. Better living with more law abiding citizens.

And that taco place inside was soooo good I want to say it was called Pacos tacos but I’m not sure. Good time for sure. But it’s time for the city to do something good with that huge amount of space. Redlands and riverside have these nice downtowns and San Bernardino has the opportunity do give them a run for it’s money. A packing house district, arts district, outdoor amphitheater along the lake mix use living and retail and nightlife would be nice. But ayyy this city counsel as their heads up their a$&es.

Not at all. This is in downtown and right next to the Verdugo Flats gang going west just beyond the underpass on 2nd street. Then just a few blocks north toward Baseline is some of the absolute worst areas in the city, it's very close to the west side which is equally as bad and home to a large amount of rival gangs. That's the inner most portion of the city, the inner city and it's really bad.

Every mall needs to be demolished. Those monstrosities destroyed downtowns and were part of the tyranny of the car that's destroying us.

Sadly some cities don’t have a downtown… some town malls are all you have for your shopping needs… ☹️

@@princesssadieloo There is Amazon. I hate Amazon, but it is killing the big malls and in a way it helps small stores sell all over the world. I wish Amazon was nationalized and goverment ran that's all.
