Adam - Another awesome video. The right elbow is talked about by some getting to impact but you never hear how elbow should work during backswing. This video is pure gold!! Jim
The comment that you feel a tightness in the right shoulder is interesting. Many people if they get that tightness may freak out thinking they are doing something wrong, and try to make it looser in that part of the swing. You talked about the bicep applying pressure against the pec. Is it okay to feel like that pressure maintains throughout the backswing (and maybe downswing?).
Another simple yet super video. Gunther? still has to trim some of that over the top out. He's well above the backswing plane. No doubt that was worked on when applicable.
We can’t show everything in a seven minute TH-cam video but if you saw where he came from, it was a 60% improvement with still quite a ways to go but positive reinforcement gets a lot more than negative 🤣
Also , I suspect many online coaches would only upload vids where the students nail the instructions , in a kind of see how good a coach I am fashion , here at least we can relate to Gunther and his difficulties..
@Sandylaner63 and even though there’s some loose ends, Gunther‘s been posting mid 70s rounds consistently…he’s a player that has great hands only needs to make small changes to make a big difference as well
I'd have to disagree with this. There's far too many greats that have had flying elbows - Nicklaus, Trevino, Palmer, Watson, Couples, Daly, Furyk, Bubba, Scheffler, Lowry. I also have a flying elbow and can spend the rest of my life doing connections drills, it won't make any difference. Everyone's body is different, and we each have deficiencies. For myself, I have no external shoulder mobility in either shoulder. Shoehorning players into one type of swing isn't good coaching.
Online coaching isn’t specific to one person or any person. These videos are typically meant to speak to the majority. For MOST players, sliding your trial foot off the ground ands toward the target isn’t great, but it works for Scottie. Same idea here except this isn’t for the individual vs the masses. If it’s not for you it working your realm of functionality, cool. Then this video isn’t for you (or Trevino, Furyk, Bubba, etc.)
@@TheMichaelshort26 I understand your point for online coaching, but he's running a clinic where he's teaching everyone this same move. Poor old Gunther looked incredibly awkward trying to do that connection drill. And how can he say he's on plane, he was swinging way over the top.
yes, you are correct. However, I bet you watch the swings of-all players you listed and observe . right elbows never pass shirt seam on right side. Also, R elbow will be in exact position when club head gets to shoulder height on downswing. So, elbows can do whatever at top of backswing as long as it remains positioned in front or beside seam then get's in front of body at contact.
The difference is playing with the trail elbow that way is most practical and easiest to play and be consistent with for the vast majority of players. Your average joe type of players don't have world class coaches working with them full time to help them make swing compensations for having a flying elbow like the players you listed had.
Simply the best there is. Amazing job, Adam.
Great timing releasing this video right after our online lesson today when this was one of the areas you asked to focus on.

@@PorzakGolf You guys are doing a great job and we appreciate the content. You are right, you can't do a stack of things at once.

Adam, are you going to be doing any clinics or lessons during the PGA Show in Orlando?
We are just about to announce a few more locations across the country. No plans to time it with the PGA show though. We will look into it!
THIS IS MY fn PROBLEM!
But....45 years of yanking it inside is SO hard to change now.

No external shoulder mobility. What does that even mean? Pretty sure your shoulders move dude
