- For Mental Health Awareness Week, we brought together inspirational Duchy of Cornwall tenant Sam Stables, founder of We Are Farming Minds, with Farmer Will Young, for a conversation about farmers' experience with mental health and the positive outcomes that can be achieved with the right support.
Spending a day together on Sam's farm in Hereford, they chatted about finding support, the Duchy Mental Health Strategy and their hopes for the future. Whether a farmer or not, we hope you'll take something from this film and Sam's incredible story.
We Are Farming Minds is being supported by the Duchy Mental Health Strategy to expand, helping more people in rural communities to access the support they need.

Thank you Prince William and Princess Catherine for highlighting the importance of all of the hardworking farmers and the impact that they have on all of our lives and local communities as a whole. Wishing you and your entire family many happy hours and blessings! Sending forth all of my very best wishes to you Princess Catherine, and pray especially hard that you are doing well and are in good spirits. Thank you so very much again for everything that you and your family continue to do for all of us! We are so very blessed and fortunate to have you in our lives. God bless you all! 🫶🏻🙌🏻🙏🏻💪🏻👑🇬🇧💐
Farmers are the back bone of this country, they deserve better help ❤
what an amazing topic to bring awareness too! i am in love with how Prince William recognizes different people ❤ he will be a great king
Please support our farmers! 🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤
Shocking. Farming is an intense job with all the responsibility often on one persons shoulders. They never really get to know how much we appreciate the hard work they do. 👏👏👏
We don't value our farmers enough - they deserve and need our support. We all eat food - they are essential.
My cousin is a farmer and she works harder than anyone I’ve ever met, but she suffered a breakdown a few years ago, Every day, whatever the weather, from pre dawn to dark she’s out working. So glad this is being highlighted, heartbreaking what that farmer is saying and so glad they’re supporting farmers with this charity.
My son and his wife are dairy farmers in NZ. They are up before dawn and finish after dark in all kinds of weather, plus running around in the dark during calving. They're also the hardest workers I know. But they love it and their kids are having the best life ever.
Thought you may be talking about the missing Kate Middleton!😬
Btw..WHY is she called by her maiden name and not Princess Katherine?!🤔
@@gemjourney5210 Just yesterday I wondered why they still call her Kate Middleton. It is time she was referred to as Princess imo.
Why are YOU not called a B**CH because that's your real name! It's too kind to just call you a nasty troll. @@gemjourney5210
I agree
Healthy farmers provide healthy food for you and I. My very best healing vibrations for the Princess of Wales, love & light Catherine, be at peace in the holy light. Blessings from Wales 🏴🇬🇧🧿🪬
This brought tears to my eyes. We need to support our U.K. farmers.
Farmers are such amazing people. We owe them for working so hard so that we have food. The scenery portrayed in this video is breathtaking. ❤
As an American, it's amazing to see that UK's Royal Family especially the Prince & Princess of Wales are concerned and are in touch with their people. The UK is so lucky to have them. Thank you for sharing this your Highness-es.
Farmers need all the support, every single one of us rely on the amazing farmers to simply just live. They are so hard working and so glad to see Princess William supporting this.
Thank you for the conversation Sam and Will 🤍
Thank you for highlighting the profession that feeds us!
This is a topic that is never discussed, so thank you to the Prince and Princess of Wales for bringing this to the fore.
Nobody talks about the mental health of farmers, who are under intense pressure from not only the elements and nature, which are totally beyond their control, but also the pressure of governments, banks and multinational corporations to do more under tighter restrictions.
Farmers are indeed the salt of the earth, and they do their jobs to give us food security. Without them, we can't survive.
They deserve our support.
King Charles, when he was Prince of Wales and the Duchy of Cornwall, set up many support systems for the tenant farmers. It doesn't surprise me at all that Prince William is continuing this genuinely felt support.
@@jillosler9353 indeed. i've got a lot of admiration for the ways they run the Duchy
This definitely needs to be more widely talked about.
Dear POW and Princesses Cathrine, thank you for shining a light on the farmers. As I was listening to this video, I thought about both of you and your family. I don’t know you personally, but what I have seen so far is that you all CARE about others. It’s nice to maybe live a very privileged life and all that comes with it, but you really CARE ABOUT OTHERS!!! People might want the glamour of royalty; however, what is it without the SERVICE?Don’t get discouraged, continue to do the work, but remember to take care of your MENTAL HEALTH. God bless!
This is fabulous. Really interesting. We should all get behind our farmers and artisans. Farmers first, Supermarket chains last. They are
ripping the farmers off.
I have been saying for a long time now that any new Supermarket built must be on the understanding that they buy British farmed foods when they are seasonally available and ONLY from another country when they are not! Supermarkets must get behind our farmers and STOP buying EU options instead of local grown.
I live in the U S. My local store is committed to local farmers and local and statewide products. There are several other options and I pay more to shop there but it is worth it. 🤗
Farmers are hard working people who don't have a victim mentality. They deserve our gratitude and support.
"Two Strangers Becoming Friends". These two farmers should trademark this to highlight the plight of farmers. Examples ➡ TH-cam channel, give talks, podcast, sell items, tours of faming life, meet the livestock, etc. Talking...is the best and cheapest communicator. Most people just want to be heard! Everyone matters. Those who know how to listen and not judge are priceless.
This is really powerful. Watching Clarkson's Farm has really shown how hard farming can be. It made me think that we need to stop moaning about the price of food and cut back on non-essentials to pay a fair price.
Farmers hearts provide for more than just their families. They provide for our families. The tremendous work they do is astounding. Thank you for telling their stories. Thank goodness for the mental help that is provided for them. Their smiles and laughter were just heartwarming to see!!!
Our health is everything and I would rather pay more for local produce to support British farmers than have food shipped in from an overseas market where we know nothing about the provenance. If we lose our farmers we lose our food rights and once again (like our energy supplies) we can be held to ransom. It takes special people to be farmers, they should be treasured 🦋
I am trying to do this because we all need to support British farmers
Strong message beautifully delivered. Thank you!!
With the exception of the medical profession, no one is more vital to human life, than farmers! God bless them all! ❤
Thank you!
How wonderful they're getting some recognition for their invaluable hard work, and some much needed support. We are all descendents of farmers. God bless them.
Thank you, this is such an important topic to address. And thank you for taking care of the mental health of your farmers ❤
Thankyou for highlighting such important matters.
God bless the farmers and their families ✝️✝️✝️❤️❤️❤️
My husband came from farming stock. Hard work. Heartbreaking work sometimes. 24/7, 365 days.
Outstanding. Absolutely incredible. Seeing and hearing that man share his pain is inspirational.
Thank you!!!!
I love the simplicity and honesty of these two young farmers. I wish Canada would have something like this too. God bless you Farmers. We honor your hard work.
There is hope for everyone 🙏 we all need someone .incredible insights ❤
you never know what someones going through ,,,always be kind
Thank you for putting a spotlight on the mental health struggles of farmers in the UK. Hard working good people. I hope they know they're needed, but most of all appreciated.
The farmers here in the US face the same difficulties also whilst they have the real possibility of losing their farms and land. God bless and God speed to all. Thankyou for your bravery to speak out. 🇺🇲🇬🇧
Thank you for raising the awareness of struggling farmers. Too much taken for granted nowadays.
We are literally giving our sheep wool away as it worth nothing on the market.
But we are happy and pleased to pass on
- to local Kindergarten for kids to learn the whole process of wool making from a sheep to a wooly jumper
- to a locally run bird reserve and rescue as nesting material
- to local allotment gardens. Great product for under strawberries, cucumbers etc.
Thank you so much Prince William and Princess Catherine for extending the mental health work you've been doing into the farming community. Farmers need support for their mental health because it's a hard and often thankless job they do. Keep up the great work you're doing in this space and keep spreading the word to the Commonwealth countries too.
I love farmers and everything they do for us. That's why we always give thanks before our meals, to the farmers and everyone else, including the animals, that led to that meal being there for us to enjoy.
Farmers are very undervalued. Praise God for each and every one of you. Love from the USA.
Beautifully made and poignant topic.Bravo
Lets support our farmers in every way. They are essential to every economy and country in the world.
💖 What an awesome charity.
Thank you. We all need to support our hard working farmers. Well done for highlighting this topic.
What a wonderful charity. I didn't know the struggles farmers experienced, but of course, they would. We are all people. We hurt, get lonely, get depressed and isolated. And we all need contact, community, and support. Well done to everyone who worked hard to get this in place and keep it running. I'm sure it makes a massive difference to those it's created for.
❤ I wish we had someone in Germany who stands up for and supports our Farmers like the PPoW.
We have the same Problem and the last years have put such a heavy wight on the Farmers shoulders. No one knows where the jurney will bring us in the next years but it's a shame that the ppl who are the backbone of society have to suffer the most.
Thank you for all you do!! Mental health is real and I'm glad you're doing better!! 😊😊
Thank you! To the farmers everywhere and to anyone struggling we hear you!
What a great testimony Mr. Will Young. Thumbs up to all in Herefordshire for their work supporting farmers. Losing 7 in one year is so sad to hear. Well done Princes of Wales for highlighting real mental health issues.
Wow! It's okay not to be okay & it's okay to say it. He is really brave to tell his story.
Great stuff! Lovely gentlemen 🩷
Thank you for highlighting farmers, they are the most hardworking people. My husband and his family were farmers, unfortunately couldn’t support all the families and had to sell out, love farming and miss the animals, but my husband became an electrical lineman, so guess all turned out well, thanks again.🇺🇸🥰
What sacrifices they make! Salt of the earth! God Bless all the farmers! 🙏🏼❤
Uber cool hats guys 💜👍💜
Thank you for bringing this out in the light. Farmers need to be applauded for all their hard work!
People need to understand that without our precious farmers their would be nothing on their tables.
Children need to learn where all types of food come from and the hard work it takes to bring it to their table and to appreciate the farmers behind the scenes.
I could go on, but I really do understand these people because I am a retired farmer.
Sin agricultura no hay vida!!!!😊😊😊😊
Respect to all the farmers out there ❤
We need to support our own farmers, before even thinking about food from other countries...If i can not buy British meats, i will go without meat till they get it back in, shop with your feet and minds.
I am very very pleased with this highlight of the farmers and the mental health problems. I have been also following the farming world in California where I am from. The politicizing of water supply and the disgraceful manner in which my government and politics politicize farming and food supply. It’s inhumane. Supremely inhumane to Californians, the United States.
So, I am supremely pleased that the world can see the absolute essential of farming and farmers. 🙏🖖👏💯♥️ Please take care of the British people, your culture, your resources.
thank you so much for looking after the farmers, It would be nice if the farmers in the USA were looked after.
Such a powerful message!! Excellent awareness video
My heart goes to you all. Sending a silent prayer and all the love and blessings in the world your way.
This makes me so emotional and it’s so important to share the spotlight to the farmers and their communities! Mental health is important to everyone! Without the farmers there will be shortages of food!
This should be highlighted in the news.
Thank you for supporting the farmers. It is so important and this initiative and the extra funding will help many. To the farmers out there - remember that you are needed and respected and appreciated.
Such an enlightening video. Thank you so much.
Support your local farmers! 👍 There is hope in JESUS! Talk to Him! He is all knowing and will supply your every need! HAVE FAITH IN JESUS!
Thank you to Prince William and Princess Catherine. We need more people to speack out specialy to farmers. They put food on our table and need to know that we pray for them.
Bless them. I hope the farming charities can join together and make a big whatsapp farming group so that there is someone to talk to that understands day to day struggles. ❤️❤️❤️
So good to bring this out into the open; humanity is what it’s all about. Thank you
Thank you ❤❤❤
Thank you for feeding us!
Just want to give him a big cuddle and say thank you for caring about what we eat and your animals
Love and blessings to all the farmers!
What a fantastic project!! 👏👏👏 Congratulations!!
It will definitely make a huge difference in someone else's life. 🔝

Sir, You and Your beautiful family are a credit to all of us. Thank You❤️
Sam and Wills conversation surrounding their Personal Mental Health really highlighted how important it is to share. It is what is needed , genuine struggles highlighted can only help others to reach out for help ot to help. The Prince and Princess of Wales show their genuine caring and the importance of their work with the highlighting and genuine help in this Health Crisis. Thankyou for sharing this. I wish all the best and help to all those Farmers in need.❤️🌻
How sad, they feel isolated 😢 this is a wonderful idea, and hopefully, one that will be helped nationally as I'm sure a helpline would benefit so many, lovely young man I'm so grateful to hear his story
3 a week is dreadful, such an isolated job
I absolutely love Prince William his help focus is always on the people suffering and not himself God bless him good on y’a guys great video 🙏🥰🙏🥰🙏🥰🙏
Watching Clarkson's Farm gave me a whole new level of respect for farmers
Support British farmers ❤
Blessings to All the Farmers❤ I grew up farming, fishing, harvesting, the whole cycles repeats in each season. Very difficult work. Helped my parents raise cows, pigs, fishing. God Bless All the Farmers❤
I know it happens in Canada also. The stigma has to go.
Agreed. So much stigma still around mental health, this is brilliant! Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦
What a moving video. Thank you.
Deepest respect for all the farmers around the world. Love from Taiwan.
Thank you for making this film.
So many people have no idea quite how much energy time and unspoken passion goes into the creation of their food. Nor of the deep frustration and betrayal many farmers feel.
Eat well, buy less stuff you don’t really need.
Thank you to all who farm our beautiful land, and get well slowly and soulfully, all who are healing,
A city person, who has been given a chance to see what really happens out there.
Support local farmers markets and stands too🤗☀️❤️
I grew up in a dairy farm family in America, and farming is far from lonely. Farmers were always getting together, sharing equipment, and helping one another.
I love this video.
Do support charities like this, and remember to buy British! It's the best way to support the whole industry.
Belle oeuvre !!! Félicitations !!!
More of this! ❤
Such a worthy cause! ❤
It's about time. Living on the farm I can relate to these bravest farmers. Thank you very much.
You are truly appreciated 💙🙏💙🙏💙
This is so amazing thank you so muchn for bringing this to light. Farmers work so hard. No farmers no food no future.
Also when the poor farmer looked like he was gonna cry and the little cat came to comfort him bless u mate
❤❤❤❤❤
Great approach to highlight this problem and charity. . Thanks for sharing. We love farmers🥰❤️
