Love the outtake! Thanks for the Review, I just got a pair of Lake MXZ 302's with the over the top neoprene booty. The lakes I got are much more well built then the pair in the review. Hoping that they will do me good this winter up here in MN.

Thanks Paul! They are awesome shoes, really awesome. I rode 31 miles on cold, wet roads yesterday and my feet were toasty warm and dry! I've never had shoes like tihs. Now, I just need to get some fenders for my road bike (cyclocross bike) so I don't get such a wet ass. With these shoes, bar mitts and fenders, I'll be all set.

Excellent review. Thanks for taking the time to do it. I only wish I had $300+ for a pair of boots/cycling shoes.

Brad, awesome video reivew - you should teach othlers on a how to do a good video class, The boots are awesome also. The look like you could just slip your foot in, but I guess not. What shocks do you perfer to use for winter and now with these boots? Do different socks make it easier to get in and are just as warm? How come you do not have a bar mit set to help your hands now? Again great video reivew Brad!

The Lake shoes you are bashing were not originally designed or marketed as a cold weather shoe. They were intended for WET weather-temps ABOVE freezing. A better Lake shoe comparison would be something like the MXZ-303.No, I'm not an employee of Lake, just a guy who has owned/tried about 1/2 dozen foul weather cycling boots.

Good review. They appear super toasty and bomb proof but a pain in the ass to put on and $450...ouch. I’ll stick with my Lakes

Oh shoot, sorry I didn't reply to this. These boots seem to be pretty waterproof, but I haven't ridden in any heavy rain, just like rain/rain soaked streets. I think these are more for cold and snow, might be overkill for rain and above 32F/0C.

+hutchbeartrap22 Get the new version without the external shell. They are way easier to get in to. Some people have had zipper problems with the old version. See my latest video: th-cam.com/video/MQ9jAXYuy-8/w-d-xo.html

Toasty? That sounds a bit too warm. 🥴

You need to talk more about what temperature you're taking these down to please. How are they in -5ºf? Thanks!

It's -4 here this morning, but there's no way in hell I'm going out to ride, sorry. I've only used them down to maybe 10 degrees or so and they were a little cold, but my toes get cold easy due to numerous instances of freezing them over the years. I suspect -5 would be pushing it. Prior to getting these, I used to put hand warmers in my shoes (on top of my toes). I know that's not what you or I want to do. Anyway, I think it depends on your circulation. I don't think they'd be warm enough for me at -5, but might be marginal for others.

Brad Herder Thanks...they sound comparable to my Lake boots. I'm looking for something that can protect me down to -5ºf for something longer than an hour which is what my Lakes are doing for me. I'd like to be out there for a few hours but with my Lakes, 90 minutes is about all I'm good for.
