I mostly use my pup to cut vines when in in a hurry, so I changed the seration. It has shark teeth that point back towards the handle and it absolutely rips
They are very well balanced and even throw well. And for using a ferro rod, keep your knife stationary and pull with the ferro rod instead. You may find better results.
For Seals Is not written ,,bushcraft,, but they write ,,survival,, instead...it Is fighting multipurpose survival knife(survival because of they do not go to the wood often but may happened in incident)

Is the clipping edge sharpend out of the box? If not would you recommend sharpening it?
No it not sharp, may be hard to put an edge on it
