Yeah man my first bow ever was a 40+ year old bear whitetail hunter compound. It still shot just fine with and even had the original string on it. I don't even understand how that's possible it almost defies logic. I was so impressed that when I finally decided to spend the money for a nicer bow I chose a new bear super kodiak
Great video, thanks. I found one of these at a second hand store, I paid just under $60. It has a small amount of damage to the side of 1 limb. I am sure it can be repaired, but I haven't got around to it because I have so many other projects right now.
I have the same bow, a 48# from -73. And like you said, it`s no handshock, smooth draw, and it`s a really great little bow to shoot. - I don`t think I ever gone sell this bow.. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful bow, and you are a skilled archer! I'm a new archer and just upgraded from my $100 amazon special to a 1965 Kodiak Magnum from eBay. I can't wait for it to arrive; with many many hours of practice maybe I'll be able to shoot like you one of these days! Great video, thanks for the content.
I just bought a new one in "Grayling Green", which is a nice colour for bowhunting. Unfortunately, Bear deleted that nice blue accent stripe in the riser. Of course this does not detract from the functionality, but it was a nice aesthetic touch.
Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed that. That'll be a great bow to buy for my son, at a manageable poundage, mind those limbs look as if even at 35# it'd still be as quick as a cat. Scotty
I have one also I bought mine in 1975 in Grayling when Bear had there head quarter's in Grayling! My bow is a #45lb it's original I even have the arrows and field tips along with the broad Heads! It's a beautiful bow.I also have the original quiver holds 4 arrows!

I have been shooting the same Bear Kodiak Magnum bow I purchased as a teenager in 1968. I love my bow and like you am an instinctive shooter. On October 1, when archery deer season opens, I will begin my 53rd year of shooting this bow! Never owned a compound bow nor ever wanted one. I can't imaging shooting any other way than using traditional archery equipment. Way too much fun! My Kodiak magnum was also made in 74 beautiful bow comfortable to hold and very accurate I like it better than my 2019 super grizzly
