I was there that Thanksgiving. Maynard had a regular by mail newsletter called Fanaddicts For Ferguson. The date was listed in the newsletter. We were walking around Manhattan and came upon the parade as Maynard was going bye. It’s mobbed so no way for a little kid to see. So I started climbing up the street light so I could see Maynard and was yelling. Maynard, play something which annoyed everyone. So I stopped and surrendered. Now I can watch the entire video without climbing street light.

Maynard was the consummate showman. Would have been even better if Al Hirt was with him, no strange to parades !
