My interpretation is lowkey philosophical. He’s the strongest so he’s never been tested, he’s probably never been hit before, so why would he have a strong chin? If you’re incredibly strong in one category, you’re probably weak in another, can’t be a jack of all trades
Appreciate the acknowledgment in the intro about being grateful for what we have. That is common knowledge but very few people actually manage to ingrain that into their thought process. Also, it’s cool seeing the OG Swanii with the cap and hair tied. Askeladd fessing up about having Ragnar killed is basically him placing his bets and going all in with Canute. He wants this new united front to be real, and everyone to be on the same page, so that there's no doubt going forward. A clean slate, with the new awakened Canute as the one leading them.
It's a common theory that Thors may have permanently damaged Thorkell's jaw. Some also speculate that Thorkell always has a weak or damaged jaw, and Thors just went for it because he knew of it.
i thought a true warrior was always implied to mean more than just not needing a sword, something about love and showing love unconditionally. Basically how the last episode was paralleling the priests message with thorfinns memory of thors
I've seen guys knock out someone twice the size of them with a solid punch to the jaw. It doesn't matter how strong you are if you get caught at the right angle you're going down. Thorfin taking out Thorkell like that is totally possible.
I don’t know if it’s giving Askeladd too much credit to say that he knew this Canute was coming, at least this extent of a level up, but had hopes that Canute could be this sort of leader. This is what Askeladd was working for ever since he heard that Thorkell kidnapped Canute Also, Canute made a bit of a distinction when he talked about their useless battles, he wasn’t saying that he would be a pacifist like Thors was trying to be. He basically said that he’ll teach them what battles are worth fighting
You mentioned they looked young in the flashback and Ive done the math on the age difference between thors and thorkell. Using thors' age at death on the wiki and thorkells statement about his own age and other markers for the passage of time, ive figured out that thors and thorkell are roughly the same age and were both around 24 years old in the flashback

(Actually, this works on anybody; someone who knows boxing said a good hit to the jaw can knock you out, and we'll see Thorfinn using this trick again in a scene in season 2(don't worry its not a big spoiler)). Until then, everybody thought Thorkell was unbeatable, so they called him Thorkell the Invincible. after the battle of Maldon he's just Thorkell the Tall. Well, Thors is smart, strong, and quick, so he found it out himself
