Still No Heating Oil Delivery in Fairbanks Alaska

- We are Craig and Alex. A couple of years ago we moved from Germany to Alaska. We are a family of four living in Fairbanks, Alaska. We share our home with three dogs, Norway, Embarer and Logan. Im in NY and I havent had an oil delivery in 3yrs. I have a wood stove. Our house is always warm and comfortable.

I live in Fairbanks & you haul water because you choose to live out of town that’s part of living in Alaska. Be happy it’s been warm this season. I haul my own fuel way cheaper

The Fairbanks North Star Borough is trying to discourage wood burning because of air quality issues in the winter. It's a sore point. The state is getting pressure from the EPA which is putting pressure on ADEC which is putting pressure on the FNSB. There is a strong push to get better, more efficient wood burners installed but it is a slow process. Dead of winter, air quality in fairbanks is pretty bad.

You always have to have extra heating oil at least a hundred gallons we used a Hundred gallon in one week last winter

So sorry to learn you're unable to get heating oil delivered! I live in the Matsu Valley, and fortunately I can still get fuel oil. Unfortunately, the cost has increased significantly!
We can get oil delivered. They were just so far booked out. In the meanwhile we got it. It took a few weeks. Thank you for your concern!
@@blackandwhiteinalaska I'm glad I read your response before I went to bed! Even more glad you now have heating oil! Here in the Matsu, the fuel oil truck shows up the same day I call. I'm truly blessed to be living in my little 1 room cabin in the woods. Take care and God bless you and your family.

Some people have pellet stoves. Most of the people we know have wood stoves.
In spite of the inconvenieces because of the extreme winter climate, the beauty of the land must more than compensate!
