We are building a DIY paver patio! I’ve partnered with @loweshomeimprovement on this project and they have everything I need to build it. 👌🏼 Our first step is removed all the sod. You can rent a sod cutter to make it easier. 🫣 Honestly, the gorilla cart made our job much easier to haul off grass. Once the grass was gone, we have to establish the grade to slope away from the house. In order to do that, I hammered in a stake on both sides and ran a line and leveled it. Then I measured down on the stake away from the house and moved the line down to get the slope. That gave me a line to use to fill in the dirt to make the slope. I kept wanting it to be perfect, but it’s dirt. It won’t ever be perfect. I worked my way across the patio reestablishing my line every three feet. Once that was done, we hand tamped everything done. We were ready to lay the landscape fabric next, but it rained for two weeks! 😢 At least it showed that the grade was okay and everything was draining away from the house. @@ivylaneinteriors Good luck with those. Professional contractor here, and I don't believe in that product, but I truly do hope it works out for you. Your area seems to hold water, that could be an issue with those panels down the road. But good luck to you, these types pf projects are a lot of work.

Please tell me you will put down gravel and tamp the gravel. Then after the base work is done you set your screed bars, screed sand and thenay pavers
I'm using the Brock paver panels that are supposed to replace the gravel base.
