My experience has been it is fantastic when it works. Exactly how long it remains working and doesn't crap out is another story. Hoping I have better luck with the 4th Generationt than I did with the whatever generation it was I had bought and shorted out after a few uses in 2017.
It's been 2 months and the off button on the unit has already started to become flaky. I have to press the OFF button several times and hope the unit turns off. Yes, even with a fresh set of batteries the problem still occurs.
My experience with this exact pump devise was not good. I was pleased with the pump performance and safety initially. However, after very little use, the pump started leaking gasoline around the bottom of the battery compartment while the pump was operating causing gasoline to pool under the can. I let that pump dry and disposed of it. I bought another design and have been using it all summer without problem.
Junk. Overflow cut off failed after one year. I had to by pass circuit board, install a switch and direct wire straight to pump. System works fine now that I removed the overflow protection.

There's an updated model that is supposed to eliminate that exact problem.
