This song always choked me up when I heard it. Made me thankful that I had a wife to spend the rest of my life with. Three months ago we divorced after 19 years of marriage when she had an affair and got pregnant. On my death bed is where I'll finally let go of my love for her. He was in Bismarck ND in 1965 in the middle of a blizzard. It was a sold out concert and only about 400 people showed up. I remember one of the other stars was Rod Brasfield and I don't mind telling you that they were drinkin. George played his whole show for us and even after he had played his show, he sat on the edge of the stage and played and told stories and made for a night I will never forget. He said if we were dumb enough to got out in the cold, he was dumb enough to play all night,

My Mother loved this song so much. It reminded her of her Father who loved her Mother until he took his last breath. It came out at the time of his death. You would have had to personally know the two to completely understand but They went through thick and thin Re-married 3 times but always celebrated their first originial date.
