Thanks for sharing these amazing videos! Must be kind of sad to look at railroads today after all your wonderful experiences back in the day. Sadly time marches on.

You really made my day ! thanks for this great video, that i have never seen before. Good quality , 18 mm ?, and lots of spots filmed around the facilities at Sayre PA, Now i found a dvd, when searching the web, made by Mark I Videos - Memories of the LEHIGH VALLEY - Volumes 1 and 2 - DVD ; is this video the same ? and yes i subscribed .

This was all shot by my father. I think the early stuff was 8mm and the later stuff was 16mm. My dad sold these as DVD's for a few years. He also allowed others to take bits and pieces to resell. No idea if the Mark I stuff is related.

Why was a caboose in the middle of the train and another on the end? Anyone know?

N&W train came into the LV yard with N&W power and caboose. The train was going to continue on the Lehigh Valley using the N&W power. While in the Buffalo area LV yard, the N&W train picked up a block of freight with a LV caboose on the rear, since the train would continue east with a LV crew. It would be quicker to just leave the N&W caboose in the middle of the train rather than setting it out in Buffalo.
