Hey first of all thanks for putting up such a detailed video. I had the same issue with my watch active 2. Now it has powered on but i guess still some water is there because touch is not responding so well. Also i would like to add few pointers which will be helpful for others facing similar issues. 1. If you are victim of this because of water then i would suggest let your watch run of of battery and use hair dryer to evaporate some of the water and then keep in rice bag over night. It will help a lot. 2. Next press both the buttons as fast as you could as shown in the video. 3. Also try removing any trapped water by holding the watch and doing sudden jerks. 4. Next put it charge and hold both back and power button together. This method worked for me at once.
Fixed! Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 3. After being okay for months, including swimming, paddling, sailing, showering, etc, it has gone in rebooting loop tonight, after showering yesterday evening. First I have uselessly tried pressing both bottons. Then I repeteadly pressed just one and then the other, as shown in this videoclip, and it worked. Thank you.
I got this same problem in my Samsung Gear Sport watch (bought 4yrs ago, no warranty) after swimming and pressing the buttons inside the pool. The next moment it went into rebooting loop; I wiped the watch and coved the watch inside a bag of rice (for dehrdatrion) for a week. This removed all the water drops inside the watch. After a week I charged it and, my watch is back to normal. My observation is these watches are actually not waterproof after 1 or 2 years, so water goes inside and cause this rebooting loop. Just need to remove water completely. Hope this helps someone.
So unfortunately none of these worked for me.....BUT....i decided to just leave the rebooting Active Watch 2 on the charger and left the room.10 minutes later, it booted normally and resumed charging. Watch wasn’t flat or anything...charge showed 78% so not sure why it went into a reboot loop....no apps were installed prior as well. Strange but at least it’s back to normal. Hope this helps someone else out.
This video was so good that it had been stuck on boot loop for a while and as soon as as I started watching the video it booted itself up on its own thanks lol
Had a rebooting problem with my Samsung Gear3...was trying the double button press but it continuously failed to open....your tip on using the base charger with double button pressing worked a treat ...many thanks however i now have less of an excuse to go get a garmin instinct x2 solar
Awesome! I was so sad 'cause it was just in the reebot screen... I followed one of your tips (tap the bottons like crazy) and it did work. Thants a million!!!
Miracle alert! See post just below...my watch has been in a coma for a month in that reboot mode. I tried everything over and over, including contact cleaner. I had essentially given up a few days ago and left it in a small sealed container on a bag of rice with watch back removed, sitting on a sunny window sill for four additional days..... and bought a new Galaxy 4 Classic on sale....the latest is 6. I'm happy with the 4 and learning apps. Anyway,, I planned to box up the 3 and put it to rest, but decided to snap the back on and check for a heartbeat. The new battery had died, so gave it another round of button pushes and set on the charger, and quite unexpectedly it did a real reboot and came out of coma. I haven't check all function but contacts are there, time reset to 2015 and currently recharged to 38% on the new battery, so now I have 2 smart watches. I'll be putting the back screws on and wrist band, time set, etc, but I'm a pretty happy camper at the moment. Thanks to WorldofTech and a few other related posters!
It means moisture inside the watch, even your sweat. Power off the watch, or just let the battery drains. Get some drying agent moisture absorber, put your watch inside a seal tight container with the drying agent, the longer is better. Also leave the watch in direct sunlight might help. Be patient and when you think it's ready, connect the watch to the charger, and if the watch is charging and doesn't go to boot loop, you are in good shape. When it's fully charge, power on the watch, good luck.
I contracted the sequential "rebooting" problem a week ago at one of the Niagra Falls excursions and have tried these various recommendations off and on for the week with no success. I did a successful battery transplant two years ago, so thought replacing the battery again would help, but it didn't. I'll keep at it though. I have an old running watch that's been ticking away so will wear that for a while. Thanks all, for your suggestions.
Apparently mine was lying to me about battery life (said 100% when I went to bed - normally goes 100% -> 70% overnight with fulltime heartrate monitoring - I think pairing it to my computer to see if there was any functionality there killed the battery overnight) to the point where after bootup my watchface that has battery % on it showed 100% for 2-3 seconds until it loaded the actual number after charging for about half an hour (and unpairing from the computer side before trying to turn the watch on).
My mum has an active 2. After using it yesterday while swimming, the watch went into a reboot loop. Rebooting appears and then disappears. It does this to itself all the time. I can't switch on the watch and I can't connect it to the app. I tried these methods but they didn't work. Still the rebooting text appears and disappears. What should I do?
Thanks for the video, I was really hoping it would work. I ended up doing the full reset. And now I can't even reconnect it because it still won't swipe. I've had it just over a year and clean it often. I don't understand what happened 😕
Interesting. But what to do if it is not charging, it shows 0% and heats up very quickly. I manage to enter reboting with the keys, but I can still do nothing because the battery shows zero% and at the moment the samsung logo turns off ... due to lack of charging. and so on?
I've been stuck in a rebooting loop for 2 weeks now and I tried this remedy. With my watch the mentioned workaround did not work. I had to hold both buttons down in order to maneuver through the menus, otherwise it would just start looping again. I was able to select reset and successfully reset the watch but when I let go of the buttons, loop. I've tried setting it in rice for a week but nothing works. Is it done?
Hey, unfortunately none of these worked for me. I am stuck in a constant loop and unfortunately my app is not connected so that I have no option to reset either. Is there anything I can do?
I got the same issue because of downloading an app that may have caused the problem. This has been happening for about a year and a half, but it suddenly worked today. When I checked, the app that caused the problem wasn't there. A day later it went back to boot looping again. I'm gonna bring it to a Samsung shop soon, and you should too. Hopefully that fixes the problem
Same for my Active2. I left it on the charger while away for 10 days and it's still stuck on the rebooting screen. It's also disconnected from my phone. Thought it was moisture trapped inside after a long shower. Wish someone had a fix for this!
ive done like 4 factory reset an its still got the reactivation lock on it.....so i bought it from my friend. so i need him to log into his samsung account an unlock it? im new to this
I have a Galaxy Watch Active 2 and more interestingly, it has been stuck on a REBOOT LOOP for 2 days now. Rebooting screen shows up and the watch shuts down and then opens back up in 10 seconds loops. It really sucks deep. I 'll never buy any other Samsung product ever in my life.
I am in the same boat. Waiting for black Friday for Apple watch and phone. This thing drains the battery like crazy and now had been in the loop for over 20 days. I did everything, including draining the battery and recharging it.
Its not a good sign that Im having issues loading proprietary apps like bixby and Spotify without hitting a boot loop. My fix is to return it to Best Buy.
For my experience I can say that it can be faulty power flex cable. I had this same issue and there was no help from opening and drying the watch. I bought a new power flex cable and problem fixed. It is over 3 years old watch.
ive bounced the button that hard and fast before, but i tried again like u said and got it, too bad a bought a new one but the replacements half the weight . thanks anyway
i have the first galaxy watch and the active 2 which i used in water swimming activities in my house pool and both of them have hold the claim of being ip68. this galaxy 3 did not hold even just one swimming time after just 3 weeks of ownership. send it to Samsung care and they won't honor the warranty and want me to pay 220 for the repair. if you're planning to use it on water like swimming i would not recommend to buy it. update: received the watch from the repair center and the back cover of the watch was broken, 3 of the 4 holes that keep it on please where broken. and was hanging by the cable from the sensor attached to the main board on the case.
Same thing happened to me after a shower. Paid $279 new for the watch and Samsung said it was water damaged and they would fix it for $220. It wasn't even a month old. When they sent it back to me it wasn't even put together correctly and when I tried to tighten the screws that seemed loose they're all stripped.
I have been using a Galaxy watch 1 since it came out working at a subway. Never had an issue washing dishes, Galaxy watch 3 dies after a day. Needless to say my next watch won't be samsung If this is how they "improve" their products.
Looking for a solution mine is just black screen but when I try to turn it on I feel small vibrations and a sound when I conect to power. The last day I noticed the issue the stupid green sensor light was on for a long time after I took it off from my wrist. Any idea or recomendation?
I lost the setup icon. When ya drag it down.. just bought this last Monday from best buy with cash. I think I am going to get bent over but good. Yes I do have the receipt.
Ok if the watch won't get out of the loop after pressing the buttons, let it run out of battery and I mean all the battery, the internal after it turns of,it keeps a little charge to preserve memory, it may take 2 to 3 days once its out of it charged again, it will reset itself 💯💯💯
So I have had the same issue this week due to too much moisture. What worked for me: I let the watch die completely and rest out on a flat surface in a dry, cool room for two days. After it sat out I set it on the charger and it started to charge and act as it should. So far so good, I'm going to try to not let it get too sweaty or wet again. Hope this helps.
Mines with my frontier , my phone cant find it as its stuck still on the reboot loop , and has soon as i try the reset the screen goes off , and the phone is still stuck in the loop ..also it had a green line across it at one stage
So after months of getting this annoying rebooting screen I left in alone and yesterday I connected my s3 frontier to the charger and it began to charge, I wore for the day and it was fine until i got the battery alert which came fast so I put in the watch on power save mode and got home to charge it when it starts the rebooting again smh, and I can't get it to turn on, all it does is say rebooting and the screen goes dark and then it's back with the same message however when I try holding both buttons it doesn't turn on or anything, it just saying rebooting.😮
I have an issue with the Galaxy 4 Classic where I am trying to get to the boot menu and the system info appears very quickly and then disappears and immediately loops again. I can stop or interrupt that process and am about to park the watch for a few days to try and exhaust the battery. Anyone have options here?
What a crappy watch! It should not require these kind of procedures so the watch will work. I will never buy a Samsung watch ever again. What a waste of money. BTW, none of these procedures worked!
Good Video! Sadly... no joy on my end. I fear I have beaten this watch silly through all but constant wear... I believe as others have said that I've lose that good tight seal and I have a water intrusion issues at hand...great watch, can't take a 3 year beating by a retired Jarhead I guess... Tha KS for the offering Sir.
My watch won't charge past 4% and it's stuck on a reboot loop and I've tried all of these things, it was working fine one minute then all the sudden reboot continuously then died and then won't charge past 4% and continues to reboot when I'm charging it until giving up whenever it feels
Unfortunately, I got water in my water resistant watch and need to find how to clean the inside. Right now it's in two pieces until I can figure it out.
Rebooting while placed on the charger works. And it says the battery is 0 percent. But I just full charged it before entering boothloop. And it is stock on 0 percent. Anyone with the same issue?
