    When I host a couchsurfer I can always feel a bit of their journey and interesting experiences they've been through. It is also a really good way of stretching your comfort zone, improving yourself in a way. Great idea, 90% great people (which is far more better then in regular life), absolutely worth it. Just keep in mind that when you are a guest you have to follow the host's house rules and when you are a host that you are giving a gift, and when something is a gift you don't expect anything in return for it. Cheers.

    This was highly recommended to me but then I saw that nowhere do they outline any cost implication - even searching how much on the faq is hard to finally find out that they charge a fee for verification... if it’s not clear and up front, it’s misleading and a cheap tactic. I’m out.

    So how exactly does this work? $60 or how much for verification at what point? How do the hosts measure risk of letting strangers into their home/"castle" or vice versa, how would guest know the dwelling is a safe place and not some awful people trafficking location? Too good 2 be true...

    • @loooopeytunes
      @loooopeytunes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to talk and make friends with the host before entering their homes. The host will judge whether you're a good or a bad person based on your conversation and manners. Your host also probably asked for your id and stuff

    • @loooopeytunes
      @loooopeytunes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And it also depends on the country and the host verification status and reviews. Crime levels on a developed countries and poor countries will definitely be far different. The traveler will tell and review about the good things the host have served to them

    I've spent many years on your platform and I've got one question about couchsurfing concept (to be honest not only me, most of my friends who are still using your platform and who left it are curious).
    In the beginning of the coronavirus quarantine your platform which represents free and noble friendship and connection of people from all around the world blocked my page and started to ask money because of this difficult coronavirus situation.It was a strange surprise - your team even didn't let people know about this decision beforehand to give them a possibility to remove their accounts. Ok, I started to pay this monthly tax. Now coronavirus is away and your free amazing page is still taking money. Could you please explain how this action combines with your Free, Safe and Trusty concept?
    Regards
