I really didn't know why there should be sax players in rock bands until I heard sax finale to "Jungleland". Then I never had to ask again. Thanks for the sound of our youth, Clarence. I pray there is a big stage up there, you deserve the big stage.
"The guy still does 4 -5 hours" I know! He was still going when I saw him last year at the final, very last show at the L.A. Sports Arena, before they tore it down! I remember going, "I don't know how much longer before I pass out - How does he keep this up?" LOL! Fantastic, unforgettable show!
Gerry McGuire. I was invited to concert to see Bruce and Bonnie Raitt. I just turned 18. 1975. My dad had passed away that same year. My mom would not let me go to that concert. I still get so angry at myself for listening to my mom. 😩 I’m now 62
This video should have millions more views than any other Bruce song. When I saw him, he played for 4 hours. I became a fan that night and immediately went out and bought Greetings from Asbury Park
The Boss and Clarence = perfection. This is what was playing when mama was vacuuming the house every weekend. I miss those days. Now I’m 48 and play it on the weekends when I’m working on my cars. Makes me think of my childhood.
My first big gig was Bruce. Born in the U.S.A. tour. He played this in the 4th hour of the gig after the Red Cross Air drop of rations, kept us going to the end..
This shows the way an early Springsteen concert was. I love this video. It makes me feel young again. When you could say, "Don't you just love Springsteen" and the answer might be "Who?"
I eat drink breathe sleep this song. There aren't many kids like me who are interested in Springsteen or any classic rock. That was a time where everyone just went and had a great time... including the band. Young Bruce has energy like no other. P.S. it's been over 6 years BIG MAN!!! You're awesome. Those are my words for my favourite song of all time without a doubt!!!
Trust me there are kids out there just far in between. im 16 and i play this regularly (on sax) with my band. Well everyone is in the band is like 40 but still
Always loved Bruce Springsteen, always been my favorite. Went to see him three nights in a row but of course that was when I was young can't do it anymore but would love to see him again a great rock star love you Bruce

Me too -- December '75 in Montreal. I believe that was the first time I ever heard this song, and it was thrilling. That was actually the only time I've ever seen Bruce in concert.
Was watching the old grey whistle test back in 78 and saw this...OMG went out the next day and got every album I could find in my local record store, It was like an electric shock to my soul...what a man, what a band, what an experience, the pure joy of this performance still cant be beaten.
Old Grey whistle test, New Years Eve , programme. My rock existence has never been the same since. Bruce and Clarence , that energy. Never forget my first Springsteen live show, City Hall Newcastle-upon Tyne, e 4 hours of magic!
This video is the reason why I wanted to pursue a career in music from when I was 5 years old. Now i'm in my 3rd year studying music in university and I still come back to this video for inspiration! Thank you Bruce!
I absolutely love, love, love Bruce's performances of his era of musical fame! The greatest man in history of our time on this God given earth! Love being a Bruceaholic! ❤ 🌻 ☘
My wife - we'd just been married a few months - gave him a looong, five second kiss on the cheek when he came into the audience to sing a verse of Spirit in the night at the Fox Theater in Atlanta on 10/1/78. One of my few claims to fame: I've slept about 15,000 nights with a woman who kissed Bruce Springsteen. (It can be slightly distracting when in moments of passion she yells, "Bruuuuce," as if at a concert - My name is John).
It happened at a lot of his concerts back then but eventually they put a stop to it. Even the guys pulling the women off him had smiles on their faces at this show because it was a normal thing. Heck, he chased after the first girl and probably hoped she was okay and didn't get tossed to the ground.
It's nice to see a guy being normal & at ease just enjoying female attention. They're like closet gays these days unless they're doing something weird in rubber..
What a great reminder of what music was all about, FUN. Bands having a blast getting off on the fact they are killing it, crowd like wise. Now its all bloody mobile phones and girls on shoulder or waving placards with I love you or such like on. Seen the boss 4 times over the yrs and he nails it each and every time, the greatest? What I love about Clarence as he was always all in. He was the secret weapon that Bruce had it will never be the same without him
It must be one of the most incredible live moments in the history of Rock.
Saw Bruce & the E three times on this tour. Each show was 100% magic.
Clarence and Bruce are the best bromance in the land.
Is there a better bromance in rock and roll?
Love the bromance. Bruce is still the boss but KISS will always rule!👄
bromance lol!!
The boss himself considers this one the greatest love songs he ever wrote
This might be the best version of Rosalita I have ever seen. The boss is amazing but the Big Man is just off the charts.
Springsteen's BEST song. No question. You can have Born to Run and all the rest, but from beginning to end, his greatest.
It's my favorite, but born to run is epic and the lyrics to jungleland are insane
@@saucyjk6453Lyrics (and music) to Jungleland make me weep. I use the lyrics to teach poetry to my students. All that beautiful juxtaposition!
MTV would air this during their infancy. I absolutely loved every minute of this clip. A celebration of rock n roll at its finest.

1978 somebody told me Springsteen supposed to be quite good live.
First thing I ever saw of Bruce . Still never seen anything better.
"Quite good live"? The guy still does 4 -5 hours. He can stand it more than you can!
Patch Davis he didn't mean it was a criticism, he was just passing it on what he was told

Bruce plays every song like it's the last one of the night--and he wants you to call him back out for an encore.
Because he's coked up.
Does he want you to hold his beer, too?
That is the best des ription of Springsteen live I've ever seen. So true - even today!
