Dude you are the older brother we all wish we had growing up. A great guitarist who has zero ego about it. I can’t say enough about your videos man. Thank thank thank you brother
Doc Watson tho known for Blue Grass style. Did some really good two finger style finger picking on blues , especially the song "Deep River Blues". This lesson can really elevate ones acoustic finger style Delta Blues. Great authentic sound, great lesson. Thanks.
Absolutely, yes! If someone is making music, that’s all that matters. Simple or complex or somewhere in between, that’s all up to whoever is making their music. No right or wrong. It’s art. And I love it!😊
I'll have to try this. I've been playing guitar for a number of years and was playing finger style until Thanksgiving of 2023. I fell and both hands hit the pavement. I severely damaged the ring and middle fingers on my picking (right hand) tearing the tendon, artery, and nerve in both fingers. After two surgeries and 6 months of physical therapy, the two fingers are still unusable for picking. I can hold a flat pick with my thumb and index finger but that's it. This technique may be useful.
Hey Clint, I used the D'Addario EJ16s for years but lately I've been loving the Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze strings. Medium I think but you might like a different gauge. These are just the ones that I really like but I did a string shootout that you might like to watch. It's here: th-cam.com/video/pGEp9XDISqo/w-d-xo.html Someone pointed me to the Ernie Ball's after this video and I eventually came around to them.
Your lessons are awesome ! Thank you

Great lesson, super easy to follow.
I only have 2 fingers on my right hand,never had a problem.❤.
This is not cheating or dumbing down - a lot of the old bluesmen picked using only two fingers, thumb and index, as per this lesson.

Thanks for watching!
Do you have a string preference, gauge etc. for good blues playing John (or others)?
