    There is so much right about the olympic lifts. The problem is people see the elites doing it with elite weights and think it looks dangerous. But, with the proper coaching (technique and programming), the Oly lifts can/will enhance athletic performance. Furthermore, if you can get a young athlete go through a thorough program as if he was going to be an olympic lifter through his/her growing years, he/she will more explosive, mobile and durable than the non-lifter. Grip will be strong, core strength will be ridiculous, shoulder stability will be better, posterior chain from shoulders to calves be stable and strong, leg drive strong, explosive power at foot strike (hitting or pitching) will be greater. Package that with solid baseball work, and you one hella-va player.

    Hey coach, is it better to stay over your back leg in leg lift (example: Max scherzer) or to drift down the mound? (example: Jacob deGrom)

      You must move hips forward and down at the same rate.
