- Have you ever wondered what it is the repair people buy when it's finally their time to get a new appliance? Our repair expert Blake just had to go shopping for a new washing machine, and in this video he tells us all about why he picked what he picked. Please, don't call him any names.

It never occurred to me that a Toploader would fit better in a narrow room. Good point!
There are lots of things that are easy to overlook when making a purchase like this, glad we could help! Thanks for watching.
Definitely an overlooked but valuable point. Thanks for sharing
As a repair technician, I certainly wouldn’t buy an LG top load washer. In my experience, they’re notorious for off-balance issues with their TrueBalance feature. This manifests as the uE or UE error code and causes the washer not to spin out the clothes. There are many causes for this failure (for which there are service bulletins recognizing this issue by the way), but the worst and most common cause is that the algorithm on the main control board fails to properly sense the basket. The solution is to replace the board, which is an expensive repair. In my opinion, this issue is the achilles heel for these LG top loaders. Otherwise, I do agree that they’re good units - yet they are in no way superior to Speed Queen!
That's some good info, thanks for sharing!
Interesting… I’ve been in the Appliance business my entire life. I’ve done every single job from Sales to Service… parts department, service manager, etc. etc. etc.… How anyone can say an Electrolux product is actually good is just mind-boggling to me. I think they’re the absolute worst appliances on the planet, I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone…😅
At any rate… I love your channel and find it very interesting to see other peoples points of view… Have a great weekend 😅lol
I’m also in the HVAC, plumbing, and electric business… I find that across all businesses you can line up 10 HVAC technicians, 10 appliance technicians, and ask them all the same question and they were all give a completely different answer…😂…
That’s some great insight ☝🏻😁
Thanks for sharing your insight!
When I had to purchase a new washer six years ago, I shopped with the intention of getting the matching dryer. The salesperson suggested that I keep the dryer if it was still working. Well, here it is six years later and the dryer is still functioning, knock on wood. I have a small laundry closet. Im the only one who sees the washer and dryer. Makes no difference if the two match as long as they do what they are supposed to do and do it well.
Nothing wrong with a mismatched washer and dryer if it doesn't bother you! Glad your dryer's still working well.
We bought a matching pair of Speed Queen units 8 years ago, the ones that still have the working Agitator, and these units have been fantastic so far with zero issues.
So glad to hear that, thanks for watching!
Same. We bought our matching Speed Queen set in 2013 and so far no issues either!
I bought the TR 7 last year. A couple of weeks ago dryer stopped working. I was annoyed when I called for service and I was told next available appointment was a month away. The next day I tried the dryer again and it was working. It's an electric dryer, we did unplug it etc. Did not cancel the service appointment, thinking it might stop working again and there is a strange code on the display. LG was my second choice, hubby talked me into SQ. We shall see ... Blake your wife is right, they have to match!
What code is it? I am a repair tech and may be able to give you some advice.
@@mason03bodine Well it turns out the codes were all fine. Could not find anything wrong with it. I have a feeling at some point it will stop working again. Thank You
Wife happiness certified!!!
Glad to hear that, thanks for watching!
I went with the LG WM6500HWA Washer front load to match an LG DLHC5502W Dryer ventless with the heat pump
Great choices, hope they treat you well for a long time!
I wish Electrolux offered a full size heat pump dryer. Don’t matter how good your unit is. If it’s never going to be financially an option.
I heard Speed Queen is developing a larger capacity washer (top loader and front loader). Hoping they give us a 5.5 cu ft front loader and 5.5-6.0 cu ft top loader!
That would be pretty awesome! Thanks for watching
I purchased an Electrolux set and have had multiple issues.
Sorry to hear that! Even our favorite appliances can have issues from time to time.
Curious to know model did you get?
Of course! The washer is the LG WT7405CW, and the dryer is the LG DLE7400WE. Here's a link to the pair: www.blvdhome.com/product/lg-white-laundry-pair-lg-lau-wt7405cw-dle7400we-1452989

Question:
Does a top load washing machine use more water. And is its significant more or not so much.
Top load machines should actually use less water on average than an agitator machine! It may depend on your model of course.
@@BoulevardHome Thank you for your answer. Doing my homework 😅 in the process of buying a new machine.
what is your experience with samsung maschines, i've just bought a set and after watching your video feeling a bit of buyers remorse
We have a samsung washer Nothing but issues. If u can take it back
Sorry to hear about your buyers remorse! It's true that we typically wouldn't recommend Samsung appliances, but we hope that your set is an exception and works well!
@@BoulevardHome oh wow thank you for your response didn’t expect you to :) are they more prone to breaking?
I thought you had said in the past top loaders are better than side loaders…. Or at least more reliable. Why did you day ‘unfortunately’ this time?
In this case it's simply because Blake would have picked an Electrolux front loader if his laundry room had the space. We'll admit saying "unfortunately" was a bit misleading! There's totally nothing wrong with going with a top load versus a front load. Thanks for watching!
LOL you coward! Nah, I'm just teasing you. (tehe) It was a "win" for both parties involved, you got the brand you wanted, and the wife got her matching set. Happiness all around!
Loads of happiness here, thanks for watching!
@@BoulevardHome You are welcome! Always enjoy your videos!
