Bonsai soil opinions are many. Not all soil mixtures work on all plants. Some plants will hate everything you throw at it. Your adventure will uncover your own mixes. Good luck
For the purist with show trees, organics are not used in the bonsai soil. For flowering and deciduous trees, they like organics, so why not give them a little bit of what they want? My trees are not ready to be show trees for many years.
Watching this is like being forced to watch someone's vacation pictures. Can't wait til it's over, but less painful.

Bonsai soil doesn't contain peat and dirt.
