I just happened to come across this tutorial after spending over an hour drilling a larger hole on a door (it was my first time drilling/re-keying). This video just saved me the cost of a handyman to finish the other 3 doors, hours of frustration, AND a feeling of satisfaction for not giving up. THANKS! I also watched the video on Handing on a Schlage Passage Set. Seriously, THANK YOU!
what a lifesaver! I had the locksmith scheduled to come to the house to re-drill new bore holes and replace 4 locks and accidentally stumbled upon this video. Thank you!
I thought I was going to have to recut the hole in my door to accommodate the new deadbolt. But I found this video and BAM! - problem solved. I have to admit that I later found the tiny diagram on the Schlage instructions that talks about this issue, but I'm not sure I would have been able to decipher it. Thank you!
Thanks! Saved time trying to figure out how to remove that shield. Btw, you do not have to remove the 2nd screw at all. Just remove the 1st screw, turn the shield until tab & slot lines up, lift and remove.
I went today and found that the b60 lock looks different now. I was able to find the same design in the deadbolt and enter lock combination set. I'm worried that Schlage might have changed their design. Anyway, heads up.
Awesome!! Thanks for the help. Is there a specific reason for the change in a bore hole size? I don’t understand how a 1.5 inch hole was ok for so many years and now it’s not ok.
Do you have a video showing how to reverse a Schlage knob entry lockset, i.e. change it from right to left hand or vice versa? Can only find them for entry lever sets.
I just purchased a older remodeled home and the key cylinder does not reach to the opposite side of the door. Is there anything I can buy to replace the prong that comes out of the cylinder so that it will reach the door latch?

My door only had a 1 1/2" hole for the old deadbolt. I followed your instructions and it fit perfectly! Good quality deadbolt as well. Thanks so much!

I learned the hard way, and now I came here. Thank you so much.
Perfect timing! Took less than 5 minutes to install after removing that sizing piece. Thanks so much!
