Rock Blackfish | Do The Best You Can On The Day

- It only takes one good fish to make your day. For me I never get bored with catching the powerful, pugnacious rock blackfish AKA black drummer or pig as they are also known as. You sometimes need to get right into the dangerous rock fishing spots where they live. On this outing it was not about quantity was about the adventure of fishing on this outing right on the door step of the beautiful Sydney ocean rocks NSW Australia.
Gear used:
• Rod- Daiwa Over There 109MH 7-15 kg 328 cm two piece
• Reel- Daiwa 5000 BG MQ
• Line- J-Braid Grand 15 to 30 lb or J-Thread Mono 15 to 30 lb
• ISO floats and float stoppers
• Mustard 92554NPNR

Great pig, Alex! Some days there are hordes of kelpies but it really makes your day when you battle through them and end the day with a nice pig or two.
That's right kelp fish going nuts. All it takes is one or two decent fish Makes it worthwhile 👌

Are rock cod no good to eat? Not sure if it is the same fish, but we love eating rock cod in Japan. First time viewer, loved it.
These are a kelp fish. Their nick- name is rock cod. These ones are not very good eating. Although some anglers eat them.
@@AlexBellissimo…. Will keep that in mind mate , I like to try fish and seafood I never tried before , you never know till you try it as they say , my favourite fish is dart and yet there are other fishoes that don’t like them , worth trying one , awesome video bud ,nice session ,great fun.👍

Yes it is a diver often when rock fishing there are spear fishos
I thought you needed to fish much lighter for blackfish. Maybe braid has changed the game. What leader do you have on the braid?
The true blackfish is the rock blackfish. They have been called black drummer for a long time and that's just a nick- name. Your talking about luderick which are called blackfish, it's only a nick name for them as well.
