This conversation just set off a lightbulb in my head, and this is exactly why i look forward to every video you upload. The lessons here are invaluable. Big ups to you Nicolette!!!
Thank you for the Beautiful content my sister, it goes to show that we as black people especially in townships have an economic system that works for us without bureaucracy of the banks.
Absolutely love this idea! I hate the traditional stokvel because I don't agree with saving money without earning interest! Also the biggest lesson is that we need to support each other as a people, this idea wouldn't work if people weren't intentional about supporting a fellow. May God bless them with growth!!
This is great content Nicollete. Relatable to the majority of the people of South Africa and probably beyond. I like his honesty about loan sharks because their interest rates are insanely high due to the convenience and risk they're taking.
Haa Nicolette imagine me saying "No" to you 🤣🤣🤣...love the insight the guy is giving. Ikasi line potential ebaya blind bafwethu it's up to us to work on the negative mindset about ikasi 👏
We always talk about this with my friends. That we need to push each other's dream. Now we have a "society" where we buy each other clothes. We give you money and you need to spend it all buying clothes. And the birthdays one
@@FinancialBunny yep, sorry to jump in, with us we had one where we helped each other clear out those unecessary debts. We paid directly to your creditor, the person paying had to show proof of payment and ofcourse this would reflect in your statements from the creditor.
this blew my mind 🤩- is this really really happening in our community? 🙌 this is “Ubuntu” on steroids 😮 and is such an innovative idea- I completely get it now; so the “stock sold” is form of “interest” and as a bonus you get potential new customers for your business = free marketing and promotion from friends the members bring + the business owners keep each other afloat with this rotation because one members failure is a loss to the chain + of course the loan sharks who are part of this eco system that make sure the value chain does not fall apart 😂
So there is a Popeye here who went to the Length of creating a channel with the same name then stole my picture and is now trying to sell people some Crypto currency nonsense. firstly I don't live in America therefore I do not have an American number secondly I do not need to use a gmail account to talk to you
Then we wonder why Pakistan nationals are all over our locations because truly bayabekelana and once one Pakistanian does wrong our African brothers and sisters are the first to loot but when you talk about helping build each other as Africans angeke...Umuntu omnyama akafuni ukubona omunye aphumelele akukudlula its even sad when you have family members who are able to give you a helping hand in kick starting whatever venture you want to go into, but because its always right by them when you are forever at their mercy then to them that's how life is supposed to be....SAD KASI REALITY
Mmh It kinda makes but not clearly for me. The fact there there is a loanshark makes me wonder if they really make profit. There are 20 members which means it takes about 5 months for you to get it turn to get ur money, but you are spending R1000 rands every week + food and drinks. By the time it gets to you, you have spent so much and borrowed from a loan shark with so much interest to pay
@@SetshwanaPhookeng exactly it's not sustainable to take out R1000+ every week for five months even for a business person. So I think you are then bound to end up taking a loan kunashonisa during this time. By the time it's your turn to receive the money you have already spent so much, plus drinks and food every week when they are only going to come to support your business for only two days in 5 months
don't make the assumption that everyone takes money from the loan shark. I guess that's why they also bring in outsiders all the time. We probably need to ask for numbers to put the model to test. for 5 months you are kept afloat and when its your turn you make a solid profit. I can live with that
@@FinancialBunny how are you kept afloat during this five months because every week it's rotating to others and you are taking out R1000+? I don't know If I don't understand it very well. I think it the model will work better with a maximum number of 4 people where you Know each month you get your turn

This guy is super business minded if the black community can think like this singaya kude.
He has friends who think of the whole crew's wellbeing. Most guys don't have good friends.
@Simphiwe R that's the thing that kills black entrepreneurs. We don't support each other.

They have a similar stockvel in Alexandra. Thoroughly enjoyed and learnt from this episode. Guy seems very relatable👍🏽
