Ths looks almost exactly like the decorations in our attic which we stored the lights for three or four family houses since we had the room. Almost everything you see here one of the total Christmas nuts in our family at one point had. I am left with the most wonderful memories....
seems kinda dangerous to leave all those old hot lights burning in a cardboard box. i left some on the floor once while i was untangling and they melted the carpet!
Of all the old lights I've come across, there's one I can't find. In the late 1950's, a neighbor had twinkle lights. (I was about 9 yrs.) The small light was tube shaped, in different colors and was a screw in type. Does anyone know of this light?
stevie68a yes, I do. They were run on a transformer to lower the voltage to 6 volts. They twinkle really softly and I still use them on my tree to this day. I’ve seen the sets and spare bulbs on eBay from time to time.
