I just got my first iPhone ever in January and having been an Android user since they came out I have to say, the iPhone in real world functionality is a little better than my last Android (Huawei Mate 10 Pro). Even though it has less RAM, it processes more efficiently as was shown in the multitasking test, and the processor is leagues better than the Snapdragon. That said, however, I will still be going back to Android when my upgrade is available simply because I miss being able to do a lot of the things Androids can do, such as downloading PS1/Game Boy emulators for example lol. The G8 really surprised me on its performance though and in this overall test I would still say the G8 wins, which surprised the hell outta me lol. (I currently have the XS Max btw)

Other than the gimmick of the hand unlock thing, this phone seems like a speed demon with a decent sized battery (although pretty small for an android), great overall specs, and a sexy amoled screen. For 300 bucks less than some of it's competitors, lg does it again
I dont thing hand unlock is gimmick but bad implementation. It is actually clever method to unlock phone. For example you dont have to stare at phone but just hold your hand in sensor.
If someone doesn't like a feature on their phone then just don't use it. Believe me someone else will be using it on theirs and be appreciative of it as well
LG G8 = PERFECT CONCERT CAMERA PHONE!! If you are a music lover like me, trust me get the G8 or wait like I will for the V50 for T-mobile (the V50 boom box is better than the G8) oh yeahhh whoop whoop "I got five one it" lol 🎶🎶
IDK....the G8 utilizes Crystal Sound in the OLED screen along with the boomsound. It out performs my V40...and the V50 looks like it will not be using Crystal Sound Technology.
LG totally smoked the iPhone performance! It's rare to see an Android device beat an iOS one so consistently like that! One thing kinda annoying with this was the speaker comparison part. Let the song play for longer on each device before switching to the other especially when the bass kicked in. That being said I preferred the LG Boombox speaker over the iPhone speaker.
I used to have an LG G5, but then my dad got me and S8+ Honestly the best decision I never made. Love my new S10+ but I still have mad respect for LG. G6 seems great.

LG sound is way better because of how they built the back of the phone. There's this extra space that creates pressure and bass, of you lay it on a surface in the corner of a room the bass is enhanced and you get great sound with bass you can identity. iPhone is just loud noise.

LG won here as far as speed and by a pretty significant margin. audio was a different story as the g8 sounded muffled and tinny. same for ram management. i think the rear fingerprint reader for the G8 was used incorrectly as you can open your device without turning the screen on making it faster to get to your home screen. good video though nevertheless.
The G8 is great! A lot of folks won't buy it, though, because they're either fanboys, or because it's too expensive for them and will decide to go for flagship killers, instead (likewise for HTC flagships). I would probably give this phone a shot this year, but my htc U12+ still works, and it's an amazing-underrated phone as well!
Wow.. LG need to just sell their best model as a base model across all regions. Last year the U.S. didn't get the better 6gb G7, now it looks like we aren't getting the better 3 camera model.
