- After crossing the Alps and leaving Italy, we made our way to Ljubljana along a bikepacking route through beautiful mountain ranges and small villages. From Ljubljana we took the EuroVelo 8 to the Soča River and joined up with the Bimobis route before heading on towards Trieste.
If you're interested in more route details including GPX tracks, check out our post about bicycle touring through Slovenia:

I absolutely loved Ljubljana ❤️
Thanks for taking us along! We are a couple who bikepacking and tandem touring, so fun to go with the one you love. Good on you guys!
Awesome, we want to try tandem touring someday! Thanks for watching!
Nice videos! All the best from Brazil
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
I am enjoying your videos. It would also be nice if we knew a little about you two. For a start what are your names, what's your relationship to each other, how do fund these trips,. . .
I think I recognize a road you were on, going through Zgornje Gorje, above Bled. Did you get to ride through Radovna Valley? It's stunning.
Yes, we did! It was beautiful, we really enjoyed that section.
You got same hat I got looks dumb but really works against the sun lol
Haha yeah, it's almost equally effective and ugly. I love it though, only time it has been a problem is in extremely high winds where it tries to pull my head around like a sail.
Beautiful landscapes in Slovenia 🥰 Are you both running Rohloff gear-hubs
Yes, we've both got Rohloffs, if you want to see a full breakdown of the bikes we've got one posted here: www.rollingexistence.com/gear/bikes-and-luggage/
Idk what lake that's supposed to be but it's definitely intermittent that's why it's not there. Lake Cerknica had water 30m bellow the surface this year which I believe was a record.
It actually was Lake Cerknica, that's wild that this year set a record! We were initially very confused when we rode through it but later realized that it was intermittent, as you pointed out.
What stove and fuel were you using?
What a cool video. I'll go and have a look at your others now I've discovered you. 👍🏻
How do you plan a route like this were you following a designated trail? I'm hopefully going to be brave enough to do something like this next year.
We were mostly following established bike routes but we tend to modify them and look for alternative routes frequently. cycling.waymarkedtrails.org/ is great resource for finding international bike routes that we use, through an overlay on the OSMand+ app. We'll be putting together a video that goes over our route planning process at some point as well!
"Yea, these are garbage ass paniers" Loved the video. Are earwigs ever a real threat?
A friend of ours had an earwig crawl into their ear while sleeping, and they were able to lure it out with a light. I think this is rare but we've been creeped out by them ever since.
So, did sidewalk went long enough, all the way to Trieste on Ev-8, or not?
The sidewalk eventually ended and we had to ride in the road with traffic for a few kilometers, but eventually there was a bikes only path for the last few kilometers into Trieste.
