I hope you all noticed the quality difference in this video... I am using a new lens and mic and I am in LOVE!
On another note...comment below if you do something similar in your position or something different
Hello Mam
so I should come proficient with virtualization, like the VMware software?
ohhh nice! what camera and lens do you use now?
I'm currently studying for CCNA and was curious what preconceived notions you had prior to becoming a Network Enginner vs the reality of your actual day to day?
Can I be a network engineer with studying computer networking
Just passed Network + and my goal is to become a Network Security Engineer. So happy to see a lady in this position, thanks for this video!
2 decades as a network engineer and I love to see this kind of content. What great motivation to anyone curious about the role. Well done!
So great hearing it from a network vet. Thank you 😁
How much do you get paid
I started as network tech in data Center and now working as network development engineer 😀
Funny thing I am cyber geek most the positions require absurd quals but I find out most of these jobs dont even need a Bachelors or cert most this can be taught in 3 months and just security training and audits/creating strong security program. But the pay be awesome though....lol
Currently studying a free course but would love hands on im better at learning hands on slower at the studying and such
And don’t forget the security clearance
Wow! It's interesting seeing a female Network Engineer, this is an encouragement to me; as I'm just starting out in this career path. Though I've not gotten a job offer after my training in CCNA, CompTIA network+, A+ but I'm believing to get one soon.
I'm in school, my major is Information Technology and my concentration is Networking. I have a year left. I have a PC Pro Certification from one of my classes. I'm also getting one for networking this semester. I can't wait to get my hands on a job!!
I am a network and telecommunications engineering student and it was really helpful to know what to expect thank u💛
I’m currently looking into networking, completely lost lol I don’t know where to start!!! I’m glad I found your page! Your hair looks great btw 😍
Thank you!
Thanks for another great video! The quality is super dope! Your videos never suffered from bad quality but this one is super clear.I work TIER 3 help desk for an ISP but I’m looking to move into an engineering/NOC role soon after I get my CCNA. As always I enjoy your videos and keep em coming! Be blessed🙌🏽🙏🏽🎉
One thing I would advise, and yes I know it's a bit more work but adding in notes of the different aspects of your day or whatever things you're mentioning in your bio. I see some tech channels with this and links to the points in the video or a time to those points and it's always refreshing. Yea, I know it's more work but sometimes we gotta do a bit more to move the needle
thanks. I appreciate the feedback
Thank you! Currently trying to get me a network internship and this is so helpfullllll.... sending luv!
I'm a fellow network engineer, so can relate to your stories. You have the looks, personality, and experience to drive this channel. Great work! I'll check back for sure!
I appreciate it
your job sounds way more interesting than mine! I just work on PE routers adding and removing config for customer circuits. The closest I get to troubleshooting is checking if the customer has plugged their WAN port in....
keep the vids coming!
Lmbo! I definitely share in your frustration.
Is the pay decent ?
Yeah pretty much all of the stuff that you said plus I do some coding in python to automate things that help mostly with the projects.
Thank you for posting this video and sharing what you do. It is very useful to give others the flavor of what is day-to-day.
I’ve always wanted to know what a day to day would look like as a network engineer.
New subscriber, this sounds fun I definitely want to do this. Thank you for this video I’m doing my research on Tech jobs I’ll be good at and I definitely can learn this.
Good video...
Quality was On-Point too. Keep up the Good work. Looking forward to the next.
Thank you so much!
Dang I know this video is 2 years old, but wondering as network engineer for a year now, what kind of things did you do in your early stages of engineering to get where you are now?
Fantastic video, love the enthusiasm!
I am not a network engineer but work in a facility where we sublease internet and it's requring me to be there incase someone else f*'s up our setup. I wish I can be fully remote and do I.T.
Can you make a video on how you dealt with disasters/problems that you run into? And how did you solve them
Great content! Diagramming is never complete lol. When you think it is, you realize you just refreshed a site and need to update that diagram again :)
Oh documentation, specifically the network diagrams. I'm slowing adding them on PRTG Maps so we have one central location to look at them and it's in real time. Moving away from the constant revisions of making diagrams on visio lol
Very helpful! Needed your perspective.
I'm just over here trying to watch your video on Networking and I'm distracted by all this POC glow lol.. You are gorgeous :-) Thanks for posting this video. It's always dope to get insight from people actually working in the field.
The camera quality is top tier 🔥
thank you!!
Hello Good Morning Mam 🙏
Your Video is very helpful and always guide me to go in IT Field.
Mam please upload video regular ..
I'm just starting out (still trying to graduate 😅) THANK YOU for the content!
Honestly, none of this sounds terribly hard. Sounds like something I absolutely could do, so I'm glad I'm working on getting there now! I also like the idea of doing the same things everyday, believe it or not. Having something crazy come up at work is a little irritating, but getting paid to do something(s) that's second nature to me sounds really nice lol
I am a junior network engineer and also an IT officer, i am looking at remote or hybrid roles on network engineering, i would love to know which to focus on
Am starting my 1st job in a week and is a remote. I have to be in charge of the data center, configuration, maintenance and all day to day networking activities. I was told during the interview that the whole network was a mess. Not well configured and managed. Please how do I start, I feel you could be of help.
Thank you
did u sort the messy network
If you were in an office, trust you will not have time to be bored!💯
Please tell me what's is your IT certificates you have
I am trying to break in to the I.T. field and I will be going to school, either for 2 year associates degree or a certification. I have minimal, lower level data center experience (mainly hardware related). Would Network Engineer be a good choice? I am not really good at math and the thought of writing code seems beyond me. Not to minimize Network whatsoever. Thanks for making these videos.
Hello hello!
I know this video is a year old, but maybe I can still get a reply. I have been working as an IT Team Lead for Deskside for quite sometime and before that was a standard technician. I worked towards my Network+ but stopped after my management promotion. Now, with a baby on the way, I want to better financially and go back to my goal of going into Cloud Infrastructure. Although lately as I am only 23, I think becoming a Network Engineer would be a great step. My father is currently a Cloud Architect for Microsoft but has been a terrible communicator since I was little so I never hear from him.
Anyways, looking through this video. Do you think using Udemy (which I get free courses through my current Employer) and self studying currently for my CCNA and CCNP is a good route to becoming a Network Engineer? What other certifications are good to enter into this current career path?
Hope all is well! :) Your videos rock and love the personality! I currently work 100% remote as Deskside Manager, so good to hear that is a possibility to keep it that way!
Im a 19 year old computer technician finishing my degree in Computer Networking. I am currently studying for the CCNA. I am determined to pass it before I graduate and move to TX. I just love cisco equipment. I have yet to schedule the exam though. I still have my last 2 semesters of Netacad at college that I am going to use to practice before the exam. I'll be scared to take the test though honestly. It feels like alot of information. Im not necessarily a "noob" I have configured switches, routers, etc. I still always feel there is ALOT to learn. So my main focus these last couple months are studying for the CCNA. Really want it in the next 6 months before I job search in TX? You have any study tips or how you practiced the exam? I have been told to if I get it try for a noc position, or jr network admin or something similiar. I just want to hear some advice from you.
A NOC is a good start position because it could be the easiest to start out with with minimal experience. Network techs, network admins, are many other starting out titles. Just apply for anything asking for 5yrs or less experience and just apply. Highlight your extra work, side work helping others, big labs, projects, ect. What soft skills you have will help as well. a
@@certifiedcurls I love how you are growing through replying to all my comments. 😊
@@trayjobe6995 sorry it's a bit late lol. I have to give myself a day to do them all 😁
im help desk and i wanted to see if this is the career path i wanted! I was a network engineer in the military, seems very similar lol
Useful info, could you do a vid on the role of ai & if you see it as a threat in the networking field.
Hello Lise, I would like to know more regarding how you landed in this career. Regarding the first job, certification your pathway.
I joined the military. That's how I got in the field so I didn't need to get cerifications
Great insight.Thanks!
Another great video
so I am level 40 - monitoring the network, checking mails, downing / upping ports / checking logs / dealing with loops, dhcp's causing problems in the network, home routers setups/ talking with clients working with technicians to coordinate them where the problem might be so they can fix it physically, monitoring for power outages ..and I am not sys admin! 😂😂😂 wondering what this position is called
Sounds like a jack of all trades, master of none 😆
The quality of the video and audio are very noticeable. What is the camera, new lens and new mic that you are using? Thanks for the videos and the information provided. Have a good one!
Same camera. I use the Canon M50
The lens is sigma 16mm and mic is a rode mic
Thanks for this great video! I just got laid off as a software engineer and am looking to switch my career into network engineering. I was wondering if you could provide any suggestions or turtorials to started with? Thank you and hope you are having a great day! :)
Is it possible to go from a network technician to a network engineer with only an associate's degree and 3 years of working as a network technician?
Hi, im a career shifter from zero background, do you think its worth it to apply for net engr apprenticeship or having self revew and pass ccna in order to get a job as net engr.?
i'm 22 years old, haven't had any jobs in it before, i just finished my network engineer career in university, some people have told me that i should get a it support job first before networking or cybersecurity (what i like the most), should i do that? cuz for me the main problem is that where i live there are no networking engineer jobs that don't require at least 2 years of experience and ccna or ccnp certifications, i'm on my way of getting ccna but i don't have 2 years of working experience, i dunno what to do, i'm kinda scared of getting a job and not knowing how to work in it or in a networking enviroment lul
If you have the opportunity, go for an entry-level IT help desk/technician job. It may not be glamorous nor high paying nor the job you want, but its better than nothing and definitely a start. See if your local school districts have any openings. Its a good way to get into the IT field. I see it this way: If you want to work in cyber security or networking, that's great. However, I feel it is important to have a good, solid IT foundation before getting into those fields as they aren't exactly entry-level.
how do you do projects for a portfolio?
Can anyone help me start or get into a remote networking? I was a hands on repair technician from computer, phones, game systems and even large electronics for about 7 years and I need some insight on getting hired or started.
Hi love your channel! I'm switching careers and just completed a security program, from a social work background with some tech experience.. I've been interested in Wifi Engineering and Network Engineering.. your video gave some good insight. What would be your suggestion, in piviting into network engineering for a newbie? Thanks
The good thing about network engineer is that quote a few folks in here don't have very good soft skills and this job does require a fair amount of talking to people. I would for sure use your social work skill and how you can talk to people. It's always worked for me with getting roles.
@@certifiedcurls Ok, thank you so much for your insight.
Am the dude that install your equipment and sometimes its not plug and play more like plug and remote into my pc to config the device.
Thank u for your content!
Thanks for watching
I watched this video which was funny and insightful. I starting watching because you gorgeous :)
How long do we have to study net work engineering ?
100% WFH, wow! where do u get it? is it ok to share? Im actually looking for 100% wfh job. thanks :)
What kind of camera and lens did you get?
Looks great!
So I'm still using my same camera, I only changed the lens. I have the Canon M50 and this is the Sigma 18mm lens
ALOHA MAMITA !! U FYN MAMITA !! IM AN IT NERD 2.....BESOS
You've got a bright future 😉
Can someone be a network engineer without signing up for any social media?
@jjoo6229 of course it's just a regular job
That is CRAZYY, im 18 looking for career paths and my name is annalise so I was taken aback 😩 I hardly hear anyone with my (our) name
How many engineer of networking
the channel's name is so funny 🤣
In your opinion is it easier to get a network engineer job or cyber security job ? Could I get into network engineering with a network +, and security +
Always start with network engineer is the base.Ccna for that.then after who can choose what ever path who want,it may be cloud 🌨️, Cyber security etc... But first go for your CCNA is very worthy
Engineer has more marketable base skills. An engineer could easily land a cyber security job but not the other way around
@@freshswagga100 thank you for the feedback. What certifications would you recommend for network engineer? I was going to take a boot camp with network+and security+.
@@Gorgeous3196 go for the CCNA I already told you
@@fritzdamiendengambog9169 isn’t Ccna associate level training? I have no background nor knowledge of anything in information technology. So would it be wise to go straight to that training ? also my area has free A+, network+, security+ and a few other at no cost so I wanted to try the free training first.
you're so sweeeeet I just can't- TT
