It's always interesting to see how things were made. Especially how normal vans or trucks just turn into an ice cream truck through the process of a couple of months or a year! I love the video!
I Love Ice Cream Trucks. I wish more would come by my house near Detroit MI. If I have time if I make it to the NHL this would be my backup job for fun
Only do cash sales on my truck. Got tired of customers telling me that my bank machine must be broken. When in reality they most likely spent all their money. Fridays were the worst because people did not get paid. And clearly they had no savings in their bank account.
@@moxiesicecreamtruck I lose very few sales because of my rule. But they are usually prepared when I come the following week. I only do my streets once a week. Most parents do not want ice cream trucks screaming past their houses every day. So most of my customers ignore my competition when they drive by.
Where do you get your product stickers? I am out in Canada and my biggest issue is getting those pesky product stickers. I have had to print or make my own laminate and tape them to the truck. However, it does not look the greatest!
I found them online. It was a kit especially made for the transit vans. They had all the vans kits available, but I can't remember what the companies name was...sorry!
I have the medium roof, and I'm 6'0" even, and I can stand up straight inside with about an inch to spare. My son is 6'3" and he has to bend over a bit...
Hey, if you have money, you can buy anything you'd like...kidding, I don't sell a bunch of them, but a 9 year old won't get one. Never had an age limit, but if your mom say's OK, then you're an owner. I woudn't bother. The margin is slim, and they aren't very popular. Plus getting them is a real b*tch
Is it hard to sell the ice cream legally? What all do you need to sell it? Is it a county to county thing or when you get the licensing is it state wide?
No license needed in Oregon. Easy to sell. I can’t go anywhere without someone wanting ice cream. I get pulled over all the time by regular people. Gas stations, drive through restaurants etc
Nope...everyone who was interested either lowballed me so bad I got mad, or they had no money or credit. Some did both...I'll keep it and bank it all! Unless you want to make a great offer?
@moxiesicecreamtruck appreciate you answering back.. I just wanted an idea.. I currently have 3 jobs trying to make a better living.. I want to at least do something with my teen kid that can help out during summer break so I thought this would be something to do next year..
@@anamorales-gz6wo It's hard to share that info with someone I don't know. I can tell you what stuff costs. The freezer was 7K, and the van was 25k back in 2016. You could do it for a LOT less, but that's not how I roll. You could buy a regular van, and use chest freezers from home depot that are like 175 bucks. Throw some dry ice in there for the day and gross some money. The hardest thing to find is a distributor that sells the right ice cream novelties. Find that first , and quiz them up. Keep asking questions till you get the answers you want. You can do it!

Interesting…half the business is credit/debit cards here. I’d love to go all cash, but turning away money is against my company policy, lol

@@amritbhathal1487 I get them from my distributor. eBay has them also.
Love this just purchased a transit..do u remember the size of your window
It’s custom made, 26”X36”. I made it myself…
Hi love the van !! I just purchased one Friday. Who did you have make your stickers?
Which ones? The ice cream novelty stickers come from the distributor. Everything else I designed and had a local shop put them together…
Nice video Gary. Appreciated. Im having a hard time finding large bombpop stickers for promotional. Not the actual bombpop sticker (rectangle).
Where are you located? My guy in Portland has a lot! Ice Cream Express…call him?
@@moxiesicecreamtruckI will. Thnx!
❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Niceeeee . How much do you pay for the ice cream / how do you get that?
That is secret. Find a local distributor and ask them for a price list.
very nice build, what size generator did you use .
Thanks! I have a Honda EU3200i Inverter/Generator, and a Honda EU3000i generator. Both are quiet, and powerful. Hardly use any gas either...
Does one just run the ac unit ?

Sorry but I don’t share that on my channel.

Gary when it comes to redbull, do you sell this to anyone or is it a 16 and older type drink? We may start to carry this as well. Thnx

I sell only Coke products because they're better than the competition. Coke sells really well, as well as Sprite. Water is king though...
Where did you enter the generator cable into the van?
I just closed the door on it. I didn’t want to make any extra holes.

@@moxiesicecreamtruck oh sweet!
Basically, because it’s prepackaged and frozen, no health department needed, no commercial kitchen. Just buy it wholesale and then retail it.
HI! what kind of van is this ?
It’s a 2015 Ford Transit 150 medium size roof

I might be interested in buying it. Can you send me some more details please. Would you like my email?
@moxiesicecreamtruck I'm in germany sadly I'd love to give you an offer! We have no ice cream mans here...how can not one smile at the ice cream man?
where do you buy the graphics?
I got them custom made at a sign shop that specializes in vinyl signs.
Hi.. how much money was invested in this truck from beginning to finish??
I don’t discuss money here. That question is the IRS's favorite. Plus I didn’t count…but it's a lot.

I wonder if you would put a Wolo 345 music box
YOU might, but I only go with quality. The Wolo 345 is a toy, and will not hold up. Don't waste your money...
