So basically, a person can be brought back from the dead after their body is repaired. If only Dr. Jensen let himself forget the idea of immortality this would have literally changed so many lives.

LOL WHAT. That's the single most unbelievable part of this movie.
😂😂
What about Bruce Wayne, Oliver Queen or Elon Musk? Musk donated million of trees and donated millions for Australia wild fire crisis too. He's a good guy. Just dumb at relationships.
@@1101-b2u Ah yes, Elon Musk, the guy calling for actual dictatorships to take over countries so he can buy cheap Lithium and the same guy who is actively against (and preventing) employees unionizing. Elon Musk is just another asshole billionaire, but compared to the others, he has a good PR team.
@@1101-b2u Elon sucks.
I swear, every time anyone criticizes billionaires, someone always chants "but Elon!" as if it's some sort of incantation that automatically negates any criticism. It should be an internet rule by now.

Ah yes the water is made out of water here

i have adhd, so watching full movies is difficult sometimes. these recaps that actually give good summaries and examples etc are awesome, the neurodivergents thank you!!

Everyone has ADHD today. It has been inflicted upon the mass because they have no self discipline and never been taught to think about what they actually do when they do certain things and how one thing leads to another.
@@GoldenArtsOnline excuse me? im an honour student with a scholarship. its not that i have no self discipline, its a neurological disorder.

As many people had said before, "Humans aren't made to be immortal."
@@robbieaulia6462 Evolution and science disagrees. Nature doesn't care about our feelings of beliefs.

@@victoriannecastle lol we are supposed to die one day, nature is just nothing, it is in God's hands to do something and once we die, we die, there is no coming back
This reminds of a 2010 German film called “Transfer” that has a very similar premise, except it also deals with racial undertones. The film is about a wealthy old white german couple, transferring their consciousness into the bodies of a handsome young black man and young black woman. Definitely worth the watch.
Similar plot to 'Get Out'?
Thanks for the German movie suggestion, will give it a try
that in itself sounds more like the movie "Get Out"

Most billionaires given the opportunity would do the opposite and just delete us. Start people farms. We're not too far off. But they have to get all the guns first.
How do they have the technology to switch a person’s consciousness between bodies but still not have a cure for cancer?
They have a cure for cancer you just have to be a millionaire/billionaire to get the cure, these diseases are made to kill off alot of the low class population, when's the last time you heard of a millionaire who died of cancer hiv/aids

The movie would have been so twisted if the story writer decided to pair him with Claire to fulfill his wish of spending more time with her 😂

You mean, Ryan Reynolds actually has 1 in 40 films where he doesn't play the exact same character? Guess he figured he ought to try it just once.
Not really. Because at the end of the movie, Ben Kingsley gives his mind back to Ryan Reynolds. So ultimately, the character turns back into the wise cracking, ex-military, action hero Ryan Reynolds that we all know and love...
2004 - Blade Trinty: Wise cracking, ex military solider turned vampire hunter
2006 - Smoking Aces: Wise cracking, FBI action hero
2009 - X- Men Origins Wolverine: Wise cracking, ex military turned mercenary codenamed DEADPOOL

I don’t get it, why would Mark give his life just to cover his daughter’s medical bills? No amount of financial debt could ever come close to the amount of hurt losing a father or husband would cause
He entrusted his wife for the job, and sacrificed himself for the sake of daughter
@@aryansah803 right but my point is he is more valuable to his daughter than any amount of money. So sacrificing himself makes no sense
@Hunchoz Turner he is stupid to understand that
@Hunchoz Turner ah, that makes sense. I totally missed that part. I understood it as merely paying for the medical bills that were already existent. Thanks for the clarification.
The movie won't make sense in Europe because we've got universal healthcare

Basically Gandhi willingly gave up Cap's body so Cap could own his body again, but at the same time not be able have one of his own since his was defect. What an offer. Even Jesus didn't stay death after having sacrificed himself. Would you guys do the same as "Gandhi"?
I'd fix the ending, with the transiction into Mark beeing analog rather than digital. A digital change is a switch, an analog change is sunset.
This means that Mark remembers everything they did together, and maybe Damien even has time to write down a few notions about business: what books to read, what rules to follow, etc.
I don't understand why this movie got 19% rotten tomatoes, the movie was so good that it melted my ❤️. Btw This movie name is "Self/less"
A minute in and I knew exactly where the end of the story was going.
@Oh Ok indeed
He just summed up a 2-hour long movie in just 14 minutes and 24 seconds
the rich guy is good in this movie especially at the last part where he let the real body's owner come back for it to come back to his family.
6:58 A billionaire with a strong moral compass. Hollywood.
So basically, a person can be brought back from the dead after their body is repaired. If only Dr. Jensen let himself forget the idea of immortality this would have literally changed so many lives.
That's not how it works
Yea no that's not what's going on. Don't know what you were thinking of. However the rich could still use braindead patients as body swaps, so there would be many less bodies but it would be a more moral company.
@@andrewgodz1118 how? If I get the procedure done on myself then I would transfer my consciousness into the healthy body of a dead person. Then I stop taking meds and so I die but that person comes to life again. I'm pretty sure this is can be done according to the movie and so people who are on the verge of death can get the procedure done on them to give life to people whose bodies are intact and healthy.
@@prakharpandey2392 again, that's not how it works. the bodies being transfered into are very much alive and healthy. the doctor lied by saying they were grown. instead, they are living people who are essentially kidnapped and used for the mind swap. hence the memories that need medication to supress.
