For those who have a deeper complexion, one of my friends here on TH-cam created a video going into the undertone of the She's Chiseled Palette from Patrick Ta. Her insight on it is very helpful. I don't comment on skin tones i am not familiar with.. because I don't have a light or darker complexion, I don't know how the undertones will work on light or dark skin. So, this video is helpful too hear about the undertones and hopefully will help you decide if this will work for you❤

The darkest Patrick TA shade does have a olive/grayish undertone. So depending on your skintone and undertone it may or may not work for you. I will be getting the Danessa Myrick contour

I normally try to do that because I do have darker products in my collection to swatch, (although I did have to borrow the Charlotte Tilbury Bronzer in shade 4 from my friend for the swatches🤪 haha. I also bought that for my review of those bronzers and gave it to her, who has hit pan on it she loves it so much🤪 I asked if I could borrow for just a day to swatch against this Palette, and she agreed, only of it was for 24hrs 😝🤣 she cracks me up). But soooo many creators will have the lightest palettes, bronzers etc so I choose to buy the darker Palettes over the lightest. But I don't comment on the undertones of the deeper palettes because I'm just not familiar with undertones in deeper complexions, and pray the swatches are helpful 🙏😁 Thank you for watching❤

Thanks for the review and comparison swatches!! As always, it’s incredibly helpful to see the shades side by side with other brands. I have the lightest shade of this one and the Wayne Goss, and I really prefer the Wayne Goss on my fair/light skin - both the contour and bronzer. The WG powders blend so easily, and the sheen of the bronzer is beautiful and subtle. 💗

I picked up shes sculpted and I love it also got the dior #7 I have to use a light hand with it but love it too. Bronzers are one of my fav things to try so I'm loving all the new ones coming out!!

I'd rather be able to buy the bronzer and the contour separately (I'm the same with blush/highlighters). Having face products pre chosen just doesn't work for me. It would be awesome if undertones were taken into account too.
I totally agree with you regarding the "missing shade". Brands always offer (95% of the time) a Light Medium so why not have a Dark Medium?

I'm glad you didn't over react on how powder affected the contour and bronzer. Admit if you tuber over react even things don't work out but that is the point of review makeup 🥰

@@AllyKit I feel it's important NOT to cut that out. I totally could of used it again on camera after washing it off, and left out the footage of the first application, but It was my experience. It's not authentic unless I show the experience overall... When I'm reviewing just one product, it's not a big deal to wash it off and start over. Thank you all for your support❤❤❤

I love this product and I'm so glad that you took the time, as you always do, to start over and try it again. I have the deepest shade and it works as a minimal makeup kind of sculpt on me. I don't think anyone deeper than myself could use it though. I'd love to see Patrick create a Rich version for deeper complexions. I nearly forgot to mention I used the original Fenty Beauty brush to apply the cream contour with great results! I still want the brush Patrick created though LOL!

I learned a neat trick about contour on the forehead. If you can place three or more fingers between your hairline and eyebrows, you need contour 💞
I just got my Gucci bronzer and I now I’m hooked. No other Bronzer will ever live up to my Gucci.

I totally agree there is a shade missing between the medium and deep. I don’t care for the neutral undertone of the medium nor the red undertone of the deep. I’ll pass for now, hopefully a color explanation is coming. Thank you for the thorough review Tara Lynn.
I’m such a Patrick Ta fan & this formula is great but “Im Sculpted” pulled too cool all together on my skin. Looked a bit muddy. So bummed! Such a great concept 💗

But i totally understand you about the grey, my complexion is so much lighter and also with reddish undertones, Tara. The Patrick Ta, i am still waiting for that one, ordered last week at Cult Beauty UK, but since the brexit it's more challenge to get stuff in time in The Netherlands, but looks gorgeous in your video!!! I also bought the medium one from Patrick Ta, i think i can handle that in summer. Contour: tried until now the Wayne Goss (only arm swatches, really liked it!!!!), CT, DM, but for me, though all the seasons of the year, from the TF shade and illuminate i wear 0.5 upto even 2! Agreed , even for me the medium fits me just perfect and I’m lighter than you, and summer around the corner so I haven’t even tanned yet so I Deff can’t use it once I go darker
I bought the medium and dark. I prefer the cream out of the darkest pallet and can use it in summer. The medium is light on me. I love them both :)
Yes. I also prefer the deeper Contour.. It's definitely not a all in one convenient Palette for me. I enjoy the formula though❤
Hello I am so glad that I ran across this video. I've recently brought the Patrick TA contour duo in she's chielsed.....and it did not work for me. It has a grayish/olive undertone to it that did not do anything for my skin in terms of contouring/bronzer. I am new to TH-cam and posting videos but in the last video Ive uploaded I discuss makeup products that im wearing and among them are Patrick TA blush and contour duo

I bought these at the Sephora sale I appreciate this review so much Because if you’re struggling with these then I don’t stand a chance lol I might return it when it comes in and trade it in for the tarte cream bronzer everyone swears by that one
I am a lighter skin African American, and actually you and I are about the same skin tone. This review was very helpful. I had already bought the medium “ She’s Sculpted” palette and I’m not crazy about the color of the cream contour, but I do like the bronzer color. Looking at your swatches, I wish I could have the cream contour from the darker palette and keep the bronzer from the medium palette. That would be a perfect combination for me. Ughhh!
That is actually my FAV color combo myself. I have been using it that way and love it. I was planning on giving my friend the darker Palette, which I still may because I don't need this Contour Bronzer Duo it will just take up a lot of room🤪 I'm so glad it was helpful, thank you so so much for watching💋❤💋❤

I haven't contoured alot but even tho i prefer powder blush and bronzer i really like cream in my contour so i do want to pick up the Partick Ta, i love the Rephr no17 for my contour its the best

I like the patrick ta just a tad bit better because it's a cream contour instead of a powder. But the wayne goss is so seamless and pretty for being a powder

I bought the deep palette for my sons gf who has a deep skin tone and debating returning since I have seen a few WOC using and it is not flattering on their skin tone. The contour especially looks unappealing...I will probably just have her decide if it works since I can always return. Its too expensive of a product to have half of it work. What I really wanted was the LYS bronzer...as always thnx for the review..
I have same skin tone as you. I bought the same two shades. I wanted the deep shade when I’m super dark. I had such an issue of the dark shade attaching to whatever it is. And the more I try to fix it, the more I stripped my foundation off. It was a hot mess. I may have to return the dark shade. Too bad I don’t know a dark shade cream to get for when I’m super dark.

@@TaraLynnbeauty I only recently began my love affair with really good well made brushes. Like Sonia G and even managed to snag a natural hair tom ford bronzer brush on ebay. And I can't believe how the heck I was using elf brushes all these years 😫 (no dig to elf I like their makeup) but the tool REALLY does matter! Boy does it!!!
Do you like your TF cream contour better? I can’t decide if I want the TF or this one. My Wayne Goss palette should be here today, can’t wait to try it. I love the Charlotte Tilbury contour wand (sadly it’s out of stock) so I may pick up the TF during this sale. What are your thoughts. My skin isn’t as warm as yours. I’m more light-medium with a neutral undertone.
Way late to the show here, so you probably have it long figured out by now.. lol. But I think that brush you used the first time was way too dense. I have also noticed that micro hairs on my face will hold onto the cream/powder products! You’re so pretty tho, and love that you are testing products for other skin colors. I’m on the other end of the spectrum (pretty fair, blue eyes and ashy hair) so I understand that struggle! Love your channel and your honesty.

I am normally 1 to 2 shades deeper than you in foundations. The medium is too light for me and the dark is too red. Hopefully more shades will be added in the future.

I heard with the Patrick Ta complexion products, you're supposed to use the powder first and then the cream. I know it sounds weird, but I think that's how he meant for it to be used. Just a suggestion.❤❤

Well, I'm in a dilemma. I wear the around the shades of foundation as youtubers Stephanie Marie and Morgan Turner and have no idea which one to buy between Patrick TA's light and medium palettes. I watched Morgan's review and she likes the light contour but the light bronzer is too light. The medium contour might be too dark but the medium bronzer might be better...gosh. I don't want to have to buy both of them..lol. There are shades missing in between...hahaha

Tara, I purchased the brush from Patrick Ta and didn't like it. I 100% prefer the brush from Tarte for their cream bronzer. I use cream bronzer-contour daily so it's not like I don't know how to use it. I even tried it with another product other than the Patrick Ta contour and it just didn't work 😕
I actually just told someone I don't think i like it. It is a weird angle and I just can't apply it like he does. Lol. I'm glad I'm not the only one because I just didn't know If I liked it or not🤣
@@TaraLynnbeauty exactly, I have seen his videos on how he works the brush and makes his models contour look great and it's not working for me. I end up going back with the Tarte brush to blend it out. And with the Tarte brush it takes me seconds to blend and look good. Oh well, I will add it to the pile of non working brushes, right next to the Fenty one lol. Thank you for your content, I really appreciate it and enjoy it. Have you tried the CT bronze & glow? It’s very light and user friendly. As in mistake proof. I like it as a contour shade but also use as a bronzer. I just bought a back up I like it so much 😊

Loved the video. Appreciate the review so much..I got my scott barnes sculpting pallette and that should do me for atleast 3 years. Plus i love it. So much selection and beautiful fine powders. During covid i refuse to spend excess money on new makeup that I cant even use on night outs. Everything is closed. No point. And sephora has become so woke and focused on leftist race talking points that I wont spend another dime there. The last sephora video on youtube was about race and wearing a hijab?
