I got the Cricut easy press mini last weekend as well the infusible ink for the Cricut joy and maker 3 and I also got lots of Cricut materials for my Cricut maker 3.

All of these items are great, but if it’s ok I wanna mention a few things off brand that aren’t Cricut for someone who needs something more budget friendly. Dollar tree has a weeding tool, scraper, and the spatula, they also have vinyl but it is very thin so you would have to adjust the pressure, dollar tree also carries clear contact paper that can be used as transfer tape. The paper trimmer can be found at any craft store, and you can also use a coupon, I got mine from Joann’s with a 50% off coupon, I also got 2 self healing mats, a small one from dollar tree, and a large one from Joann’s, also using the 50% off coupon. Hope this helps 😊

I bought, then sold my Cricut Joy a while back. It is GREAT for small projects. However, I wish Cricut would have made the markers much more versatile.

When using smart vinyl with the Joy, how can I use scrap pieces of smart vinyl so not to waste? Can I place scrape piece of smart vinyl on a matte and cut?
Yes, you can cut scrap Smart Materials on a mat. 😊🌻

How do you know if a surface is sublimation? I’ve never heard that term
It needs to be a poly coat or polyester for fabrics.

One thing that I have discovered with cricut joy on my laptop I can get the blue tooth to do good, but I have to use my phone in order for the Cricut Joy to work with the smart material,. which is a bummer.
You should be able to use both devices for that.
That is what bugs me, on the laptop blue tooth connects, but getting the laptop to upload it won't do it.
I Used the pen that came with the cricut Joy For cards but i noticed that the pens Not lasting very Long only Few hours after using it was empty i suggest to Use sharpies with Adapter For cricut Joy

I have a question about design space and Cricut joy. If I create a project on my laptop, will I be able to use contour (you can’t on the joy) and then save it to the cloud and cut it on my joy? Also, same question using the dongal. And if I use design space on my laptop will I have to tell it I’m using a different machine in order to access all the options?
You will have to choose your machine in Design Space that you are cutting with if you have more than one machine. You can use contour on your laptop.
I know this video is old and you may not see my comment, but I'm gonna give it a shot. I just received a Cricut Joy and lots of tools and materials. I have been using a Cricut since 2013 with the Expressions II and now have the Explore One and Explore III. My question is this... are the Joy cutters, needles, whatever they are called, (the name escapes me right now), different from the other Cricut ones for the Explores and Makers or is their replacements specifically for the Joy?
Yes, the Joy has their own blades that need to be used.

I bought a cricut joy and downloaded the design space on my phone and found most of cards you have to pay i thought they were free..i need help to find the free ones
Design Space has free ones even if you are not a Cricut Access member. You can define your search in the drop down menu. Our library is free to use. You can go to jennifermaker.com to search for a blog post and the link to the download is in the materials list which will take to directly to the library.
I just tried making a card using the joy insert cards with the card mat, but the inset does not fit. The proportions are all wrong. Help!

I did. I tried it another couple of times, one came out fine. Now the text is giving me headaches. My screen on Cricut design space looks different to the ones on You Tube. The text box has "text" written in it. Sometimes I can type in the box, sometimes I can't. Other things are different too. Thank you for your help.

Good Morning, Jennifer. I have a question for you about the Joy & WIFI. Does your Joy loose the WIFI connection after each project or after each cut you make with it?
No, not usually. If the WIFI drops out for a second the connection will be lost.

I’m considering purchasing a cricut joy….my question is since I’m not computer literate, do I have to get images to print or cut specifically from the cricut site, or can I get something from somewhere else? You might have a video covering that…I’m new to all this…I’m still really fuzzy where all that’s concerned…it looks really simple to use, I just need to know how you get images…thank you…hope I made my question clear
You can get SVG's from other places besides Design Space but you have to use Design Space to operate your Cricut. All the svg's are free to use in the library. jennifermaker.com/library/

How do you make sign with the joy ?

I just bought a circuit joy but after watching your tutorial I don't think I can use it. I have a windows 7 computer and a Samsung android version 7.1.1 - Samsung experience version 8.5 and no I phone. Is this correct?

You do not need transfer tape for iron-on vinyl for a shirt. Transfer tape is used for permanent vinyl and removable vinyl. Smart vinyl is used without a mat for the Joy, Explore 3 and Maker 3 only. It can be used on a mat for the Explore Air 2.

Can you use it to cut balsa wood for miniature making?
The Joy cannot cut heavy materials like chipboard and balsa wood, nor can it cut any fabric.

Denae, I will usually hang on to the good size pieces, you never know when you might need a small piece for a project.
