Sounds like Zodiac makes a lot of references to The Most Dangerous Game, a story about a crazed man who hunts humans for sport on a island. Honestly, his demeanor is very similar to the antagonist of that story.

The book he was referencing was The Most Dangerous Game, by Richard Connell. Also, you have to consider that all of the "slaves in the afterlife" talk was simply a ploy to throw off profilers. He may not have been mentally ill (in any conventional sense), but simply a violent psychopath who not only enjoyed killing, but also messing with law enforcement.

I believe I met the Zodiac killer in Solano state prison in 2015, he was in his 90's. I found it odd that he would always mention the Zodiac case and claim that his father worked on the case for years. This man is from the Bay Area and has been incarcerated for 20+ years. I remember his name.

Wasn't it most likely Arthur Leigh Allen? He took Zodiac from his watch, his most favorite book was "The Most Dangerous Game", and he was incarcerated during the inactive periods of The Zodiac Killer's murders?
It was supposed he was the killer, the problem started in 2007, when they compared the fingerprints of Allen and the ones in the famous letter of the killer, they didn't match, so the case was re-opened.
I think they did a DNA test more recently with small traces lifted off one of the Zodiac letters and compared it with Allen and it wasn't a match.
