Every time someone says "10 years ago" I think of the year 2000 and tbh had like a life crisis when I started to realize it was actually that long ago...

Gouchos, ponchos, butterfly clips, chokers, blue eyeshadow, chunky highlights, chunky black heeled boots that went mid calf... uhm tons more. lol at the 2000's... I feel like the 90s-early 2000s were a confusing time for everyone. OMG PLEATHER PANTS.
Gauchos are so unflattering but they were so comfortable. But yes this all basically describes my high school/college fashion sense.

I'm confused about Erin's hair
Erin just put all of her hair into a high ponytail and put a hat over it. That's why her hat had that bump on the top. When they outfit changed she just let it out of the ponytail.

I was born in 01 but I still remember some of the trends from that time, and I always felt weird in the turtlenecks, corduroy, and leggings under everything. I started school in 07, so I did still have to deal with the horrible fashion sense of the early 2000s.

The early 2000's were an awesome time and while i unfortunately was never on trend i had a lot of similar things like the jean skirts and a monkey shirt like lily lol

Yes, your clothes are disrupting your learning, so therefore it makes perfect sense for the system to do the same thing. I'm from the UK, so I had a uniform, everyone had to wear a tie (so I'm always like..."you don't know how to tie a tie?" to any girl I meet who cannot) and the ties were all sold very short, no one liked wearing it long so the fat bit would be like an inch long and the teachers would go around the students and retie them, but if it wasn't up to standards then we'd get detention. If you weren't wearing the correct shoes (my school had to wear black p/leather shoes) then they would send you home to get the correct ones, and if you didn't have any, tough, you weren't going to school that day. They didn't even accept a note from home saying that your parents couldn't get you any shoes until the weekend because they have this thing called a job which they work 9 - 5 in order to pay the bills and get food. Then they'd send a letter home saying that you weren't attending school and if it continues they'd get the police involved, etc. when it's their fault in the first place for having stupid rules.
...you think I'd be over it after 4 years...
That's ridiculous. This is why I love school uniforms. But ones that are quite general. At my school we had to wear a white button up collared shirt, navy pants and black shoes, didn't matter what type of shirt or what type of shoes, long as they were the right colours and the right type. Even our school jumpers could've been any random jumper, long as it was black or navy and wasn't crude. We should focus on education than what the students are wearing. It's time consuming, money consuming if it has to be a particular type of clothing (like ones with logos or specific material.)
I mean, by the time I got to year 10, so second last year of secondary school. They kind of stopped caring about "the good kids" uniform, just for us older students though. So I was able to wear black Vans, which lasted two years, whereas the p/leather shoes lasted 3 years and stopped wearing my blazer by the end of Year 10
I understand the "No skirts or shorts 3 inches above your knee" rule and the "No shirts (mainly on girls" exsposing excessive skin i.e shoulders, back, and stomach." rule. But sometimes the teachers take it too far when deciding if it's acceptable and the "no holes in jeans" rule is stupid because normal holes are on the knees or shin and don't show anything wrong. But then again my high school is pretty lenient with stuff like that. We get to dye our hair and wear jewelry (guys can't wear earrings still) and that's pretty much it.
