Tried this knot for hunting snakehead this weekend. Works well but on small dia. line like 0.20mm line I found it quite difficult to change lures out. Pulling the loop open at dawn was quite challenging and a waste of precious golden hour minutes.
Since ive learned this I tie almost all my top water like this . im using a baitcasting reel/rod no issues . I tie my whopper ploppers , frogs , zoom Horny toads etc on this . Ive done a smaller version on my texas rigs also . havent had a snap yet !! It makes a weedless rig better !!

After losing a SPRO hollow body frog to a snakehead I found your channel via noobangler...and this video helped me land my first snakehead!!! Thanks so much! Just tied it on again and hopefully tomorrow more I can get another! They are a ton of fun, and I plan to let the majority go.....but they are tasty.

Interesting knot. I'd like to give this knot a try but most of the important details of tying it are lost off the bottom of the screen and not explained adequately enough to compensate for that fact. Please adjust the camera (mounted on your hat-brim?) to look lower so the knot-tying action is centered in the screen.
Do this knot work in other lures?
Im using this knot for heavy cover game especially where the giant snakehead hide n use the snag and twig as it fortresses

Interesting. But the strength at the eye of the lure is still the strength of the line being used. This is because of how the frog is attached. When you open the loop to attach the frog it is like having a Palomar knot tied on. In order to maintain the strength of the twist, the twisted line would have to be fed through the eye of the lure as is - only then would the strength be 200 lbs. Above the eye of the lure I can see how it is a good knot for toothy fish though.
Some frog hooks eyes has small open gap.sometimes your line slips trough that opened space and u can loose ur frog. Best i think when u have that kind of froglures is using a small wire underline.where i fish for snakehead there are also wolffish, when a wolf fish takes the frog, he easily cut that line.
will still not work for european pike or you need to replace it after any catch. Look for 1x7 titanium wire, can be Sold as regular fishing line but sometimes you find it also in regular Tool or boat stores on a spool for like 30 Cents per meter

Im from new Jersey and I use that knot to catch snakeheads so far ive only caught 4 but at the lake I catch them at I have seen close to 13 of them caught and killed
